leaky fuel filler cap

Hi all

Has anyone else experienced leaking fuel cap?
Whenever I 're-fuel I seem to stink of petrol it soaks into the stretch material around my nuts not nice and leaves streaks on the tank. Just a seal I'm hoping although a race style one would look pretty trick.
 
Try cleaning the little vent hole, a mate had this te other day, the little vent hole was blocked so pressure built and fuel leaked out of cap, we used a needle to clear it and no problem anymore.

Went out today after cleaning the breather hole but still leaking, when you did it did the needle go right through because when I did it I could feel it hitting something?

Im having the same issue on a 07 tuono, filled up yesterday and had fuel bubbling out, once i had done around 25 mile it stopped, thought it might have been me filling it to the brim that caused it.

Hi,
My mates bike was a gsxr 750 and blockage was obvious and at the top end so we didn't need to try and go all the way through but I would doubt it is a straight line breather.
Sorry I can't be more help but hopefully others on here might give you the aprilia knowledge.....

I don't think it is overfilling as mine seems to leak when it's not topped up. Think I'm going to take it out and have a proper look
 
done a refill, but didnt fill to the top left a small gap. i have to ride it work wed at 0500 will see how it gets on hehe after i wake every one sleeping in the street.. :lol

fuel needs a gap to expand too. Funnily i had oppsite prob on my 02 mille before fitting a lightech QR cap, which didnt leak til i stoppied a full 360 in a collision, bike on top of me and fuel pissing all over me lol

ok , it seemed to be ok, with the 1inch gap a gave it, also ya gota love nice sunny morning at 0500 and nothing on the road but a loud v-twin,, bliss lol
