me again
had a top ride out today.......
got back noticed fluid on floor, after investigating
fluid on legs, cleaned - bounced forks - fluid re-appeared...
bloody gutted
so far the bike has fault with ecu showing efi
leaking forks

what next?

is it a big expensive job? spent all my pennies on the bike and i need it for work..

Common problem on all Ohlins forks i'm afraid. New seals will cure the problem. GSXR 1000 k4 seals fit straight in and have 2 lips not one as per the ohlins seal and are also half the price. Just had mine done, £120 new seals, fluid, strip and rebuild. What's up with the EFi flashing, connect the 2 diagnostic wires together for old model RSV Mille, dealer only with Axone diagnostics for new model RSVR and Factory to get a fault code. Remember to disconnect the wires afterwards though if it's the old model. See your owners manual

new model bike so axone it is, thanks for the price quote, gives me a rough idea what to expect

agreat1, can't remember if it was you I replied to earlier on another thread but I found a bit in the manual that says hold the lap timer switch then turn the ignition on to display the diagnostic codes on the new RSV.

You could always fit the seals yourself. Having had my forks off to change the oil it isn't that bad a job, plus the satisfaction of doing it yourself and saving a fortune into the bargain!

tools and lack confidence in this action and time is stopping me from trying.
so i'm going to trust my dealer to do a good job and hopefully not too expensive...
plus i want him to sort out the efi problem with the axone and give the bike the once over, i need it to commute to work so time is of essence...

Funny, but every RSV I looked at prior to buying mine had it's seals leaking..The service manual does recommend changing them at the 12k service..Touch wood my bike now at 13k and still no leaks, but am expecting them any moment..:doug

Last time I did fork seals was on a GSXR1100K in 93..Not hard but a pain as I had to make up a tool to undo the internal screws..So..When mine go will let a dealer do it as these days I just want to ride them not fix them..Good luck with yours..

cheers buddy
something so important is worth the £120 as i value my life a tadge more than that.
also allows you to ride without thinking is verything done right.
i do enjoy fettling it a bit and as i get to know the bike, i'll do what i can..
pity there's no haynes manual as i do find them useful, used it all the time on my R1.
i may of contributed to the final failing of the seals as i hit a horrid speed bump, through lack of attention and strong winds...

good luck wi yours too mark
keep safe
