Hi Guys, it seems like you just get one problem sorted, you have a couple of weeks of fun and then.......

I go outside for a ride this afternoon only to find a small drop (about the size of a penny) of oil underneath my 2004 RSV :bawling

I had this last year and found it was a weld on one of the brackets on the oil tank had given out and oil was seeping down. Have checked this and it seems to be ok.

Has anybody else suffered from small oil leaks? If so where were they, I'm reluctant to ride her in case it seeps out while riding onto that rear Michelin...... :uhoh

Yeah, oil pressure switch.

Notorious for leaking apparently.

Easy and cheap fix though, around £10 from your local Aprilia dealer, just gotta find an Aprilia dealer still in business and one that has some stock. LOL

Lol cheers Amb :thumbup Do you know where abouts I find it?

The oil pressure switch can be seen if you remove the right hand fairing (As your sat on the bike) and it's just below the coolant reservoir level.

Usually has a small drop of oil hanging from the wire leading to it.

my oil pressure switch on me 04 factory has had small oil leak, as amb47 says cost a tenner. mine came up with fault code in diag mode but cant remember the code no.

The oil pressure switch is fine and cant see any drips on her undercarriage.........

The oil seems to be quite thick, could it be chainlube that has gone runny? They coated my chain when it was in for it's MOT.

take your front sprocket cover off and clean it along with the sprocket and surrounding area . my chain goo gets al over the side stand switch and could poss drip ..

yes same as kawasakiinit the chain lube runs down on to side stand and drips off also can be off air box if oil is to full it can get up in the airbox and come out the drain pipe
