ok gents,

anybody been in the same situation?

do i need to remove the the whole ignition switch/barrel or can it be done in situ(once the nosecone has been removed)

any advice greatly appreciated.

Yes I recently picked a lock it could take hours. Wear mexhanix gloves lube the key wipe the outside with alcohol so the broken piece won't slip while pullin. Use a bEnt(30 degree did the work for me) tiny Philip screw driver and start picking the piece when it sticks out about 3/4 mms pull it out with nails clippers and then finish with plliers. Sumtimes takes hours to dig and pull out. I opened an early ducati cylinder successfully after drilling the rivets on the back out of it if u do that u could duct tape the cylinder on the side of a sledge hammer and hit a rock or the floor violently so the piece would eject. Or just hot wire and put a switch on it and watch out for the obamas new world order lol

****.....sounds like your weekend is already planned Mark.....Good Luck!
