Keeping the baby warm plus mods

Hi gents and thanks in advance.

I am new to having a bike over the winter as I normally get rid of it, but Unfortunately I have to keep my 06 tuono outside, it's got about 200 quid worth of cover on it and is hooked up to a trickle charger but took it out the other day after a couple of cold nights. Started it up no problems, but then as the revs dropped it just cut out, this happened a few more times and eventually I had to rev the bollocks of it and ride it around the car park at the back of my house to warm it up so it would tick over.

The battery is new, and the charger readings are good. Once out and about it was fine, stopped at the petrol station and it started back up with no problems. Could this just be one of those disadvantages of keeping it outside or could there be an underlying problem.

Plus what mods would you recommend to increase performance, I am changing the gearing but if there is anything else you would recommend I'm all ears

Thanks muchly

Hi. Are the fuel new? If not tap it out and fill it full! And let it be running a few minutes before you ride it. Happy new year from sweden.

Happy new year you to also

I would let it run before I ride it but it just keeps cutting out, the only way I could get it it to tick over was to ride it around a little first.

Thanks for the reply

Building a shed for mine !!! still got to finish it! !! Failing that the lounge might be better ....more room and slightly warmer .... if it's been very cold the viscosity of the fuel might lower or just dirty fuel.

Impressive ;)

Should be better & dryer in the shed.
Damp can be a bit of a buga until the heat off the engine dries it all off, could be the cause of it cutting out, or old fuel

That is one smart shed, just on't let the mrs get her gardening pots and associated shackles in there, that is the thin end of the wedge!

Please believe me nothing but bike stuff in there .....I had to fight hard to take over the front garden signage while be going up shortly

I had similar problems when ecu was found at fault. Fault started to show up more with cold weather outside, had to hold revs but when warms up - starts and keeps revs fine. Tifa and few other people had this problem with ecu
