Kawasaki Versys 1000 - anyone test ridden this bike?

West Cumbria Marra!
Looking to change my beloved V-2win Tuono. A V4 t was on the list but the second hands ones have been flying out of the dealerships quicker than i can ring them to leave a deposit!

So looking at other bikes to take over the mantle of my 'everyday bike'.

Saw a Kawasaki Versys 1000 at our local MAG Easter Egg ride in late March, and talked to the rider who is usaually a sports bike rider. He rated it. I've heard the front end can be bouncy in magazine reviews (heavier fork oil needed?).

Any views would be appreciated.

Cheers :thumbsup

Take an Aprilia Dorsoduro out, its a Tuono on cuban heels :thumbup

Took a test ride on a Versys 1000 today. Was expecting well nothing surprising. I was surprised and thought it was a great bike. Im 5'5" and its tippy toe tall. What really fun.

Agree with Grin.
Bit like a fat bird.
They're big, heavy and ugly, fun to ride even....but you wouldn't like yer mates to see you on one :)

Seems like a fair appraisal of them.:thumbup

Its that headlight assy - its just horrible.

If it had a similar fairing design to the new Triumph Tiger sprort it would sell loads more.

Plus the only colur I have seen them in is that creamy /white / pearl sort of paint - I dont think that helps.

My Tuono has bits that will be surplus to requirement (after 16.5.13).

Akrapovic titanium cans inc link pipes carbon straps springs etc

Aprilia Dosuduro hand guards c/w brackets to fit tuono.

Laminar Lip screen.

Renntec rack bag and cover

ASV short clutch & brake levers
ASV Inventions :: Unbreakable Levers

Touring pillion seat with grab wings.

Other stuff as I find or unbolt it.
