K&N or OE oil filter??

Either / Or Andi.

Aprilia only sell the longer oil filter now so you'll need to get the revised filter housing if you decide to go for this. About £20 for both including the longer bolts.

K&N's are still the older style shorter length filter i believe, unless they've revised them, so you can use the original shorter ally filter cover unless it already has had the longer type fitted previously of course.

My worry is how many shorter filters have been fitted to the revised longer ally filter cover by unknowing owners. The filter will simply fall off inside the housing which is not really a good thing to happen !

Thanks buddy, will check that out tomorrow, K&N's are £10 delivered on ebay at the moment!!!

You can still get the short one and from what it looks now it will stay like this for now.

I payed for the long filter cover, screws and the filter from aprilia 50eur:eek:, just the 2 screws are 10eur.

K&n filter flows more oil, but better flow always means less filtration, so in my opinion use the original :)

Changed mine for the longer filter and cover ,cost £14 with screws from Bike Devils at Wrexham. Plus put the dearest oil I`ve ever bought for a bike in,£45 Motul 20/50

hey Sandy just looked on thier website they don't seem to have oil filters for Aprilia's - was it just a bunch of stock they had that they've sold off now?

cheers

You have really got too look around, one guy was auctioning his starting at £14 with a buy now £20,I put the opening bid in ,but when it was exceeded I searched and found the ones at bike devils and being only 20 miles away decided too nip over. Stuart (the owner) as got himself a nice little setup here just wished I had been able too have a longer look round,ha well good excuse for another ride out.
