Im going to sevice me 08 gen 2 tuono is it worth investing in a K&N air filter and why?

I was advised to stick with original, its well known that in the tuono/rsv the k+n is more restrictive and 3x price.

Im sure there is a thread somewhere.

Really?:dunno
I thought the K&N was just a replacement for the stock air filter?
The standard filter is a throw away item, while the K&N is washable,....so should,...in theory,...last longer.I dont think there are any performance gains in fitting one.

Got one in mine to compliment the full Akro ????????????? Gen 2 Factory

Save dosh in the long run - if you keep the bike many yrs, if not stick with stock filters as there is no gain from K&N

I've got a spare one somewhere, think it's at Griffs with my air box cover. If I get it back soon might be able to do a deal.

I'll ave it,....if he doesnt want it.

Think I'll give Griff a call & see if he'll post it to me, could be a while before I get the chance of calling into Tamworth en chance. I'll keep you up to date. I may even have it in the shed but not that confident.

Thats ok,...I'll have it when it turns up,...no rush.:)

About to change my oil filter & air filter guys, so you think genuine or aftermarket filters. Used HiFlo & Filtresx oil filters before as same as OE spec on Japanese bikes, not sure about the Italian bikes though? Any advice, oh and can I /should I change the Oil Strainer Filter too, is it easily accessible?

I stick with the OE Aprilia filter.Shop around and the price is about the same as the genuine filter.
As for the strainer, its in the oil tank(no.2 in the pic).To get at it,drain the oil then remove the clip (17) and bottom oil feed pipe (3).Unscrew it from the tank and wash it out with petrol.
When you put it all back together you will need a new clip for the pipe.A jubilee clip will be fine.15-25mm.

Cheers Keith, new Genuine Oil Filter from Dave Millings, oil changed, didn't take out the strainer, leave that for big 'tappet' service next year. Now air filter to do this weekend and noticed clutch fluid a bit dark, was grumbling on a few red hot days at the Isle of Man earlier in the week at the TT's, bit grabby. Thanks again!

Black clutch fluid normal even shortly after changing, believe it's got something to do with the seals. Nothing to be worried about.

Cheers Guys for advice genuine filters bought from Dave Milling Aprilia Dealer in West Cumbria. Top bloke had em on the shelf, + rear Brembo pads.
BLACKWOLF: Get one of the renrgade filters that reoves the whole airbox compleatly!
Er, too hardcore for me mate!
Will have a search but while I'm on (EDIT) any favourites for spark plugs as the T is now out of warranty so I can choose what I want ! (Just need to remember I only need two s/plugs after a rake of in-line 4's and a speed triple!!!(Y))
