Hi all contemplating fitting a k&n to my tuono to see if it helps a bit with running now it has the gpr on not that it's a bad runner but it may match the bike more with the pipe.. Any views / experience with this on there v4? Many thanks in advance

adding a free'er flowing filter may make it worse, best getting your bike on the dyno for a air/fuel test run to see what your air/fuel ratio is doing, aprilia recommend a race ecu with open pipe, mine was rich with the stock ecu, i had it hacked and remapped and gained 17hp @ 8k, so nice bump just by having the fueling sorted!

there are lots of threads saying the k&n filter doesnt seal properly, there isnt anything wrong with the oem filter so you may save some cash incase you need to have your ecu adjusted

Wow thanks all quite surprising! I'll keep me pennies and spend it on a dyno me thinks 17hp is a big gain just need to find someone who understands these bikes and who I can trust with the race ecu side of things near me... I'm West sussed (daan sarf)

I sent my ecu off to Gabro bud, let him work his little wonders with it. The quick shifter action post remap is worth it alone. I think someone on here went to Hilltop in Earl Shilton(2mins from me) but I have read a few stories that may or may not be true about how he doesn't give the 1st run full beans so the remap looks way better than it actually is. Pay yer money and take yer chance lol.

Gabro 's name keeps cropping up on here, does anyone have a contact for him at all? Thanks dave

Gabro is a legend.

Have done a lot of work with his ecu reflash and PCV, Autotune.

The end result is a fekking rocket ship that makes power everywhere and throttle response like it should be, smooth and instant power.
Not like the stock on/off switch.

You can get him on facebook https://www.facebook.com/G4bro?fref=ts

Or I can pm you his email.

That's great thanks rizla dave has given me some information to just not sure about the harness required I don't want to balls it up if it ain't broke and all that but admit would like smoother fueling and track mode is pretty full on not that I'm complaining ✊

No problem.

All that is needed for you to re-install your ecu is a couple of cables from Lonelec and a freeware program call guzzidiag.

Then once you have re-installed your ecu you can plug it into your laptop and run through the throttle and handle learning procedures.

It really is straightforward and there are a few of us that can help you through the process.

In fact Dan made a video and put it on youtube.......... here it is.

As a side note. I went with a Pipercross airfilter and there are not fitment issues with it at all. Seals up nicely.

That's great I'll have a look probably seems more daunting than it actually is to be honest plug and play kinda stuff

if I can do it, anyone can do it lol. Rizla helped me out a fair bit at the time too, he has a lot of knowledge on the matter.

Use a DNA filter, it's shaped to fit the air box and won't leak like the KN does with the OEM ****** plastic adaptor.
