Just went for a cup of coffee

Hi Everyone.

Just lucked onto the forum this morning. Seems a good place to spend some time.

Our local Suzuki shop is probably one of the best m/c shops around. They sell Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Those 3 wheeled rotax engine things and some jet skis. They also have a great cafe, where my Wife and I often stop in for a coffee and piece of cake.

We always have a geez at the bikes and more often than not spend a few bucks in the accessories dept.

I like nakeds and have owned a z1000, superduke and a ktm smt. I've motarded a couple of dr 650's as well.
So I've had an interest in the Dorsoduro. A couple of things put me off. One is the weight and the other, that skinny seat.

I'd read a little about the new tuono and the reviewers were raving.

Three weeks ago, we stopped in for a cup of coffee after a trip to the hardware. There was a yellow tuono out the front. I chatted to the Manager about how good it looked yada yada and out of the blue offered to buy it. What??? Where did that come from?
I've got a bit of history buying on impulse. The last dr was bought the same way.

The manager informed me the bike was a press bike and they were only servicing it, so not for sale.
"Have you seen the black one inside"? When I did, I think I dribbled on my shirt and pee'd my self simultaineously.

The deal was done.
We rushed home, loaded the ktm and dr into the van, grabbed some cash to make up the difference and in an hour or two, had my first Aprilia in
the garage.:thumbup

I've only ridden it twice. Haven't touched anything on it yet accept the bars. I changed them after the first ride.
I can't believe how good this thing is. I guessed it would be better than the ktm. Handling wise. Not comfort wise. But it's really leaps and bounds ahead. I really love the smt and would have kept it if I could have afforded to.. It's even better then the dr.:lol

Can't wait to get in a decent ride. Damn, I love this bike.:thumbup

Here's the bars if anyone's interested.

Welcome to the site gill and congrats on yer purchase. Those V4 T's are awesome machines.I borrowed one for an afternoon and it blew me away.I think if I bought one,I'd be losing me licence pretty quickly.

Welcome to the Aprilia world, lad. The Tuono can be an addicting drug. My '07 has been my pride and joy and I've been wondering if I should trade up to the V4. I also have my eye on a Factory. I'll be very interested for your input as to the handling, comfort, and real world rideability of the new one. Btw, why the bar change? And what size are you. I have heard that the new T is a little tighter in the cockpit that the Gen II. This is an issue when yer 195 cm and 20 stone... Looking forward to future posts.

Thanks for the welcome fellas.
I felt a little bit like I was reaching too far to the bars. One thing about the smt is that It's about as a relaxed riding position as you can get.
There's not much difference. A smidge higher and a bit more of a sweep back. Seems pretty good so far.

Oh..and I'm a pretty normal 5'9 and 88kg which I think is about 13 stone.

I'm not one for blinging but I reckon this looks cool. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/POT-ECHA...4941?pt=FR_JG_Moto_Pièces&hash=item336f890d6d It'd be about the only thing I'd buy.

Kool as ****... Quanto pesos though?

And I was hoping for someone that was more normal sized so that I could commiserate. Not another wee laddie like nobbie, Gilo, or Rico... *grumble* little pissants...

oops, outside voice...

welcome aboard, yeh the T's are a brilliant bike. Absolutely love mine, got it as the last 2010 V2 brand new and haven't regretted anything yet, oh except no fuel gauge but am getting used to that part.

Hi Gspy.
Thought I recognised your name. I checked another forum I used to be on and found you there. Back in the days when we had vfrs.
We'll have to organise a ride one of these days. I've only had two short rides on the new bike so far. Maybe It'll stop raining one day:dunno

yeh didn't want to sell the old vfr but fell in love with the T. Just couldn't find anything else out there atm the grabbed my attention. Not into the screaming inline 4's and the new 1200 from honda just doesn't grab me at all

Welcome to the site m8t ... keep dipping in ... and you'll find there are many knowledgable and friendly people in here. Some wankers too ... which is why they allow me to stay.
