Hi all, Capo has had it's first major service and passed with flying colours (well it is a red one......).
All up it cost $1070.00Aus, but it does take 7-8 hrs to complete. I was talking to the Head Mechanic at my local Capo Central (motorcycles R us in Brisbane) and he said mine was fine......both cyls have 220 compression, valve clearances within tolerance, all systems good. They replaced all hydraulic fluids (clutch was black, but both brake reservoirs were normal... ie not discoloured/black) so it looks fresh and new again. Motul 300v 15w50, Shell Advance Coolant - Red ,new plugs, airfilter, cam cover seals (ouch, $50ea x 2 - and they look like neoprene gaskets....).......so it's all done and my hands are clean!
I know how hard this work is as I've been schooled to do similar on my Blackbird.
Ps He did mention in passing that Aprilia put a new piston and rings into later model Caponord's as a result of some earlier models using oil, and he also said he puts 15w50 into KTM and Caponord V twins as lesser spec oil will cause excessive oil consumption.
