Just got an RSV Tuono 2003

just saying hello really
Bought an RSV Tuono 2003 today, had to ride it home for 2 hours in the wind and rain so looking forward to a better chance to ride it really

Welcome aboard matey, lovely bike by the way.

If you change 1 thing on it, change the chain and sprockets, go 1 down on the front and 2 up on the back, plus get a new heavy duty chain.

That is what i saw when i got home this evening.
Seems the cover acted like a parachute and the wind blew it right over :(
Got it up and checked it out as best i can and it looks like miraculously its escaped ANY damage
Crash bungs and bar ends aside
Phew!
The cover wont be back on tonight and the car is as close as possible to prevent another tip over
 
Bet yer heart sank when yer clocked it lying there, glad it's ok mucker.
 
I thought "bollocks" and several other choice words that i shouldn't post.
Cant believe it seems to have come out unscathed

Just sorting my 1st mod out now.....
I had a spare VFR800 (vtec) side stand and have just tried it for size
It's almost perfect other than the spring hook being on the wrong side, so I'm going to make one on the right side then try it again, will post pics once I'm done,
Not bad for £12
 
Here is the vfr800 vtec side stand :

With my 6mm bolt screwed into the back opposite where the honda springs attached
Here it is on the bike:

The only problem is that the stand attaches the opposite way to the aprilia one.
Ie. The rubber grommet and the 6mm bolt that are on the front side of the aprilia stand where it bolts through the bracket, have to go on the back side of the vfr800 one, and they dont fit due to the position of the springs.
At the moment i have left them off, the stand is secure and stable.
Is that rubber grommet etc something to do with the side stand switch? Cause i started the bike and put it into 1st with the stand down now and it will drive with the stand down.

Nice ride. Before you change the front sprocket count the teeth to make sure no-one has already done it :)
 
Bugger just saw the on the floor pic Check the frame around the front brake. When our bikes hit the floor they can push the levers into the frame, denting or cracking them in the process
 
Nice bike, when I get my bike out I like to keep it on the padoc stand, best money I have ever spent.i just dont trust the side stand.
 
Know what you meen nap... but a decent side stand doesnt have to cost a lot... and is a fair bit more practical than paddock stands...

:)
 
This has been worrying me! I've heard so many people complain about that side stand and I wake up in the night thinking I heard a crash in the garage!
