Jet 40 screw - where does it go??

Hi,

I've got a 2004 RSVR and am doing the recommended conversion from the jet 60 to the jet 40 screw. I've got the part but cannot for the life of me see where it is on the bike. I've looked at the exploded parts diagrams but cannot see where it goes. Can anybody offer any advice/pictures please?

Cheers

Phil

It goes behind a bolt just in front of the clutch slave.

Thanks Spoonz, that's a great help :thumbup

I hope i've got the right one - the guy in the parts shop said the Jet 40 was the upgrade...as they appear on the 06,07 and 08 models

You might want to read a few threads on removing/replacing the jet, it is quite tricky to remove, you also need to use the correct screw driver, size 10 comes to mind though could be wrong, the jets are only soft brass and can damage easily not using the right screw driver.
Once you have the jet fully unscrewed, poke a tooth pick in the hole at end of jet to remove, bit fiddly but easiest way, and well worth the time, good luck :thumbup

A small amount of oil will come out once you have taken the initial bolt out, soak the rest of the oil up in the hole with a tissue and you will be able to see the jet better, :thumbup:biggrin
