That's right....today, I sucessfully installed a Acumen dg8 gear indicator on my 2001 RSV!!!!!!!
Took 3 hours and a lot of head scratching....but worth it in the end

Don't know if your aware but there is a place in the dash that it seems Aprilia considered putting a gear indicator.
Several guys on af1 have grafted their own or other designs into it and it looks prettty good.

Looks good MonkeyDog and a neat fit too.

I suppose I'm just not really that interested in knowing what gear I'm in, well not when it costs £60.00 plus anyhow.

I suppose if a cheap one came up on Ebay for £20.00 I may be tempted.

A good rider should always know what gear he is in anyway!!!!!!!!:doug

Knowing what gear your in is pretty irrelevant as 1066 says, it's the engine RPM and relative road speed/conditions that matters.

If someone said to me make sure you take that corner in second I'd probably crash cause I'd be focusing on the wrong thing. LOL

having just come from a il4 ide have it set so it shows 1 gear higher, god i must be slow or something but im slowly getting used to being flung over the tank evertime i knock down 2 gears by mistake....:jack

gear indicators look ok but not really my bag :eatcorn

knocking down gears must remember to blip throttle, keep locking the back end up irate
