I've been thinking about a spray job...

...Just a plain one or two colour respray, to tidy the bike up. But I don't know where to take it, or where to get the right decals from. I'm in Surrey, and I just want a decent spray job done at a reasonable price. Any ideas?

The one thing putting me off is getting hold of the right decals, I haven't a clue where to get them. Again, any help would be appreciated.

I was thinking of respraying the whole thing red as per the fairing/seat, with maybe the bellypan and rear light surround in black satin finish. Whadya reckon..?

This color is nice and is getting rare. I would leave it like that.

And if it has a few scratches, they have to be there, so you know the bike has been ridden :)

Otherwise if you still plan to do it, contact a forum member Oli. He may help you with the stickers, and you can get touch up paints on ebay mixed for you rsv(to tidy it a bit).

If you paint the whole bike, than do whatever you want, no one here can tell you what will look good to you :D

TBH there's nothing wrong with it as it is. it looks great. :thumbup

If you must paint it then try these - Dream Machine heard nothing but praise for their work and seen a few up and close and they looked very well finished off.

You basically tell them what you want and they'll do it all for you. Be warned though, it ain't cheap.

You not at work ya lazy fcuker :biggrin

Theres a lad on here does the decals Al, think his name is Oli, meant to be spot on and very reasonable prices, ask around the paint shops in your area mate, ya should be able to get a straight colour on all panels for less than 500 squid :thumbup

Cheers fellas. The pics look alright, but up close the paint is looking very old, especially the dark blue bits. I'll give it a bloody good seeing to with t-cut or rubbing compound before I start throwing money at it.

Trouble is, I don't much like the colour as it stands. The red bit's okay though.

So you want your bike to look like a London bus then? :devious

Take a look at Smiffy's garage, he used to ride a London bus. :nana

Hi Mate

When I bought my bike from blackburn there was a guy who was doing custom spray jobs on bike there for customers who wanted something different. I had my wheels re-sprayed the same colour ad the fairings on my silver and red mille and they looked awesome on it as the colour match is perfect.

bike shop is called the rocketcentre and the salesman is John Wasserman. He is such a nice bloke and can do whatever spray job you want on your bike. Tell him tony from swansea who bought the silver RSV off him this year gave you his details and he will sort you out for sure.

good luck and look forward to seeing the results

tony

I still think blue is the faster of the two and you get in the secret blue rsv owners club :nana

thats exactly how my bike started life as in my ownership in 2005
i gave mine a revamp last winter, loved the colour scheme but wanted to freshen it up & some of the carbon extras that the 01-03 rsvr had
so i bought all replacement panels & had a friend spray it for me the same

if u can afford to do it, buy replacement panels & sell the o'e ones off or keep for when ya sell
i've found over the years tri colour panels fetch a premium

heres my revised tri
