Ok The wait has got too much for me,I know there is still salt on the roads . After a month of owership I just had to get the factory T out and at least full the tank up. IT'S A BEAST ... I only did 10 miles on it but WOW !! It's so light the handling is just WOW . The pick up from low rpm is snatchy, but what happens when I fit the 15 tooth front sprocket,i cant wait till the first service is done, BTW about how much am I looking to pay for that ? Only downside at the moment is after cleaning the salt off is I found a crack in the top of bellypan , I found that the bracket from the footrest to the bellypan was loose so I had to take the right side footpeg off to tighten the bracket to then refit the belly pan in a stable condition, bit miffed that the carbon fiber is cracked though,Could this be a warranty claim ? Apart from that I cant wait for the spring I need to ride the lion.

aye ye jist got tae git oot here and dae it.

V Twins are vibey buggers by nature an can hae fastners an the like working loose oan ye so it aye good tae keep yer 4mm and 6mm allen keys handy and hae a wee deek roond the bike evry noo and again antweek them all up.

Ah had a couple o screws go AWOL, one frae exhasut heat guard, one frae right side water tank cover and one frae hugger! and the whole nose fairing ratlin loose once (cos ah didnae notice one bolt wis fully missin and the other wiz half oot frae the headstock. An that wiz al in the first 6 months nae long efter gettin the T nearly new!

Rico should we buy shares in locktight before the word gets out:grinning

Fitting the 15 tooth seems to take away a lot of the low down thump like your in too low a gear

Basically smooths the bike out and makes it a joy

Have to agree - took the advice of the 15 tooth front and it makes a big difference. Loctite 243 is the stuff you want - medium strength so its easy to remove when you need to. Been too much of a ********* to take mine out yet - bloody freezing here today.

Couldn't resist - the sun (!!!) was out for a bit today and as it was up to the heady heights of about 5*C I had to take mine out for a spin too. Just stuck to the main roads and only did about 15 or so miles but it sure felt good to be out on the T again! :thumbup

I always dial out all of the freeplay from the throttle, so much so, that at a stand still when I turn the bars full lock o the left it revs a little...no worries on the go though. It never really gets off the throttle fully so you don't get that clunky pick up...

Doesn't work for everyone but it works for me. I also have 15/42 gearing....

windy

I was out today as well, for the first time since early November.

Was out for about an hour and a half, went up Cheddar Gorge and up over the Mendips. It was bloody cold (a lot of the standing water at the edge of the road was frozen solid) - I had it well into 3 figures a couple of times but I couldn't feel my chin due to the freezing windblast, think I was dribbling as well...... :eek

First bit of twisty road I gave it a big handful and nearly stacked it as I went into a sharp left hander too quick.....then later in traffic I was riding like a ****, loads of noise, ropey overtakes....... Note to self - calm the **** down, you've got all Summer to come yet.....:crazy

Damn it felt good to be out, I've missed that V twin music! :thumbup

Have a word with your dealer, Tricky. That's got to be a warranty job in my book.

Also, just got back from a 60mile hoot around the Sussex countryside. Dry roads and sunshine, what a blast. :thumbup:thumbup
