Bloody brilliant Rob! :banana

You know I'm jealous, I should have been doing it myself this year :banghead

Hey great pics.

Where abouts in Italy did you go. I'm thinking of doing a trip to Italy this year, as we've done France and Spain in previous years on my Z1000 and was thinking Northen Italy and the lakes this time.

How was the camping price wise?
How was the Tuono's sidestand on the ferry?? (I'm thinking of replacing the original with an aftermarket one, as it's not that stable.

Sorry for all the questions but only just had the Tuono.

Cheers

Hi Wills9
Thanksfor your comments, I went to Tuscany, a place called Bolsena, about 50 miles north of Rome. A bit too far really, the Northern Lakes would be a better bet. Camping was cheap, £180 for 2 tents on one pitch for a week.

Food, drink and petrol very expensive though due to strong Euro, petrol 1.37 per litre.

Tuono sidestand on ferry was fine, no problem at all.

After touring 3500 miles fully laden though, I have decided I need something less tiring for all day riding at high speeds, so am trading in the Tuono for a Kawasaki ZZR1400.

If you want any more info, feel free to PM me
Cheers

Rob,

Snap! I've just been going through the same thought process after 2800 miles around France and figure the ZZR14 would be my best bet, especially as my son also wants to go pillion next year.

Can't deny the T was fun though... superb in the Alps and I was still the most comfortable compared to the guys on GS' and Tiger, weird. The only spoiler for me was chasing fuel stations, that and the high petrol price... ouch!

Nice pics, I'll try and post some of mine later in the week.

Cheers

Shame to hear that Rob but I guess you have to have the right bike for the job?

What was it that made it tiring? The wind blast?

Yeah, the wind blast mainly. Also the poor tank range and the thud, thud of the V-Twin engine does eventually get a bit wearing after a few days in the saddle.

So changing to something with a comfy fairing, better tank range and plenty of smooth power!

Enjoyed the Tuono, but time for a change!

Something like this........................
