Is this RSV factory or not?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about buying this baby.View attachment 6636View attachment 6637View attachment 6638 The ad says it's a RSV 1000R but based on the rims and frame I'm suspecting that it might be Factory...I have a VIN number but the carfax doesn't say factory but Racer...I'm confused...please help!

Hi,this is not a factory.
The 2006 model factory have gold frame,gold forged wheels,ohlins rear and steering damper,and varius carbon bits

I forgot to mention that this is 2007 model. I got confused because I read somewhere that they put those blue ultra light rims on factory models. Plus I've found this pic of factory with black frame and blue rims on the internet. The bike has had some kind of an accident and they had to replace the body kit so no carbon bits.

But yes, it seems that you're right and this is just a standard version.

Over all the bike looks good. Did you do a test drive yet?

No it's not 2007, it's a 2005 factory (04-05 factory: black Frame. 06-09: gold frame. The simple model has chrome frame.) according to the frame as mine, however the side fairings are from 2006-2009

Thanks, I'm starting to think that this bike has been stolen and frame has been replaced, it's being sold as '07 with '06 fairings and '05 frame...that's just great...and the title is Total Loss but it's a non-accident damage...they say it's been working great past year without any problems but it really looks like somebody put bits and pieces of different bikes together and is selling it as a Cleared Title bike...

I'm thinking that this is a 2005, bought it in 2007, but because of a crash, it wears 2006 fairings

It's a 2005 tail also, all the others are from a 2005, only the side fairings are from a 2006

It all has a fishy smell to me - unless you can identify the "true" history of this bike then I would leave well alone. There are loads of genuine clean bargains to be had, so why take on a risky deal, I certainly wouldn't. :exclamation

Thanks for the advice guys, i have decided to go with a different bike. It's also an '07 RSV but with clean title and I'm gonna get in next week. Can't wait
