relatively new here, got a 2001 mille r. sitting at about 20mph in second and it really don't like it, like its way to higher gear. Though it feels smooth in first at that speed it feels a bit much for riding down the high street.

I'm also new to twins coming from a 955 triple. so I'm happy to think its just me getting used to the bike, but thought I should check if it could be a wrong chip, I have an ART can and think the chip is standard.

All is well other than that, bike pulls really smoothly from everywhere else.

Help Appreciated

What gearing are you running with :dunno 17/43 is standard but 16/44 makes it much much better :devious

If its a 00 model you need to drop to a 16/44 combo, as they are all geared to highly. The later models all benefit from a sprocket change but am not sure what ratio you need.

Oem in europe was 17 42
Just get a 16 or 15, will set you back 15 GBP.
Small investment to find out if it's more to you're liking.
Get you're bike adjusted by some who knows a ape (Griff) makes a huge difference to.

Then there is a eprom that smooths things out!!

haven't had a chance to check the current gearing, will make a 15t my first mod, that should be ok with the current chain right? assuming its standard gearing. Cheers

mines the same on standard geaing... im getting a 16T tomorrow... will fit it @ lunch & see how my commute is like going home... got to be better... very difficult to get into 2nd gear in London traffic as it is !!

:pirate15 T does make for interesting traffic light GPs!!

but does knock a little of the top end......not that you'l l need that in london!!

Throttle bodies sync and Co set will also help smooth things out there dude!

Also make sure that your throttle cable tension is correct ....really helps!!

enjoy!
