Is there any tyre shelf life ???

Guys,
I have good offer for 2005 year slicks- Pirelli Dragon`s Slick.
I`m just curious if there is some shelf life on tyres .
What you think?

Many manufacturers have a max shelf life for tyres (about 7 years) if they are kept in the right conditions. That is dry and not in sunlight or in areas of high temp changes like a garage and not on a rim.

The make up of the tyre is broken down by heat cycles whether on a bike or not so if it has seen sub zero's or sunlight in a shop window or similar then i would walk away.
