......of taking off/putting on the tail section of a "Tuoldo"? :dunno

It always seems like a bloody mission to me! :banghead

Yours is carbon isn't it?

On the plastic ones you can pull the sides apart at the front and slide it off backwards, not sure you can do that with CF.

funny thing - had exactly this discussion with Windy on Sat morning after we re did his LH can.

OK, serious answer.. which bits in particular ?

the Tolodo seems to me to be very much like any other seat of it's era. 2-3 piece unit on top with clips into an undertray...

Which are you finding an issue ?

It is carbon. There's a panel behind the seat that detaches. Not sure if the carbon is stiffer than the plastic?

It seems that the problem is the front section that goes down the sides of the seat. It's just a bit narrow to get past certain parts on the subframe, like the pillion seat/cowl lock and the alarm/reg on the other side. I really have to manipulate the unit to get it off but getting it back on is the biggest fecking pain!!! :crazy

Ahhh sounds like the old 1 piece race seats i had on Gixers.

Can't you split the T seat into 2 pieces ? (please note, i've not actually looked at mine in detail)

No mate I can't, it's a complete unit.

Unless you mean attacking it with a Dremel? :eek

I wondered how difficult the carbon ones would be - there is a lot more flex in the plastic body panels on the R model. I used to hold mine by the two front bits and simply pull the front apart whilst twisting the bottom out on each side. It would then go most of the way on in one go. I then pulled each side out to get it properly into position. Bit heath robinson really.

You will be delighted to know the new model is an absolute doddle, a couple of bolts on the top and 4 plastic pop fasteners underneath, :)

I had to take mine off to do the regulator wire fix, bloody scary watching that thin carbon bend. Very tight scrape past the regulator, harder to get back on as you have noticed already.

Didn't seem to find an easy way except gently keep stretching and pushing with no sudden moves (ooh er).

If it cracks use tape on the outside, superglue on the inside to soak through, leave overnight, tape off, polish, ready to go.

I didn't have to do this but just nice to know in case!!!

It doesn't half make me cringe when I hear the carbon making noises like it's cracking! I think the weak spots must be those 2 seams that go from the pillion seat to the tail-lights? :dunno
