Intermittant Stalling Problem

Can anyone advise?
I own an 07 Tuono and up until now had no probs ( other than getting through rear tyres at alarming rate thanks to riding addiction brought on by ownership!) but now, three weeks after 6000 mile service (Aprilia dealer) my bike has stalled on me three or four times as I have been decellerating on approach to traffic lights/roundabouts etc, after pulling clutch in. It seems the bike cannot maintain idle speed and dies. It starts straight away with prod of button and can be fine for several more rides. Took bike back to dealer who plugged it in and reported no faults other than CAN line reading which they said meant nothing. The problem is one of those intermittant pains in the *** 'cause I don't know when it will happen again! :banghead

I have not encoutered this problem very often myself - mine's stalled only twice since I bought it. However, Ive heard of others having similar problems.

My advice is to lift your tank and check the vacuum lines for cracks or splits. I have heard they can become pinched by the tank and this can cause them to crack.

Good luck

Chunkylad is right on. There is a vacuum line that runs from the throttle body to a switch on the airbox. Mine had exactly the same problem as yours. I found that the hose had split. I replaced the hose and the problem went away.

The other respondents are probably right.

I had the same problem and the culprit ended up being a damaged vacuum hose. Finding the problem would have been an issue had it not been for the kick-*** help I received on this site.

The hoses are located on the left side of the bike. Look for the really small guys - one of them is probably split and/or its no longer attached. This is an easy fix if you can find the correct size of hose.

Someone told me that remote control model cars and planes use the same hoses so you may want to check a hobby shop if you do end up having a problem finding the correct replacement.
