Interchangeable engine?

I have an 02 Mille RSV-R with a dead engine, I've read aprilia used the 'same' engine on various models & was wondering if it's really exactly the same, and which models/ years I can go for if buying a used one?

I had a new engine in mine, there are some difference, i think the pre 01 ones were slightly down on power, i know if you get the same year it can be either a mille or tuono engine doesnt matter if an 'r' model or not, it cant be 04> and the edwards reps are different too.

Shame the later ones don't fit... What about the falco & caponord engines?

98-00 RSV have smaller valves, 01-03 use the same engine. There is an 02 engine for sale on apriliaperformance forum with 14500 miles on for ￡250, hope that helps.

they tend to go for about £300-400. There's normally a couple on ebay

Yeah, the person selling the engine on the apriliaperformance forum decided to sell the whole bike instead - I've seen a Falco engine which looks in good condition, anyone know if this will slot straight in?.... Rock me Amadeus!
