why does my bike some times not start . started up today fine rode 1 mile put in petrol tried to start it tries but just resets the clocks left it for 1 min fired up went 1/2 mile stopped again 5 min later fired up fine any ides
 
Battery on its way out or the solenoid is duff mate.

I have assumed you have checked the battery terminals are clean and tight etc...!
 
Yep battery, get an optimate and always leave it on when not riding. Especially if you've got an alarm
 
battery looks fairly new all clean on the term side may look at the solenoid and give it a clean just weird how it starts after being stood but not after a short run
 
Sounds like a duff battery to me mate.

How old is the battery, should have a date stamp on it somewhere?

If you don't know how old it is get it to someone who can do a load test on it, they'll tell you how good it is. I think Halfords can do them for a nominal charge.

just up the road in tamworth , they talk a bit funny down there and seem to eat lots of biscuits and fart a lot :nana..................must be something in the water :biggrin
