Dreaded time again and just wondered which has been found to give the best rates for the v4? If anything like last year I was quoted 350 to 900... Also did anyone find someone to insure ok with a few mods ie end can and RSV tail.........just I was refused insurance on a bike because it had red wheels before!!

Thanks guys for above...madman enjoyed our chat today at windy corner good to meet you. Perhaps see you at cmc Sunday if its not raining!

I used to pay just under £200 with Bennetts on a 08 Fireblade but when I replaced it with my V4 they wanted £850! I ended up with a company called Green Insurance off some comparison website for £300.

Why is the V4 so expensive when in the same insurance group as sports bikes? Is it just because it is a new bike?

Agree that is what happend to me last year. Had R1 £200 F comp then the V2 factory went upto £280 but when trying to get the V4 my current ins would not cover so had to cancel and go searching. Had quote £380 to £900 with 12yrs no claim and clean licence. Found out that a few cheaper insurance companies had folded and rest all appear to be under the main insur companies.
Ended up with the cheapest I could find but do not like the insurance company....so looking and reason for question...hopefully more will cover it this year.

My 04 R1 with AAAAAAALLLLLLLLL mods declared cost me just under £300 through "The bike insurer" when I phoned to switch cover onto the V4T they said that my current insurer wouldn't cover the T :thumbdown

FFS said me. I've been with them for years.

They did a search for another company and came back with...........................£900 :banghead

I went back onto the bike insurer website and searched myself and got full comp for £199

Yes I've ad my cb1300 for 2 yrs first year £126 f/comp ,this year £79 wiv Bennett's , bought me gen2 tuono start ov this month so wanted multi bike, Bennett's wanted £560 , even they told me to look on a comparison site coz they couldn't lower it ? So shopped around got bikesure £350 , so bought that not happy but what can I do? 48 yrs 20 yrs no claims thieving fuckers.

What is it with Tuono's and insurance?

Is it cos they are so desirable that every thieving little scrote wants to steal one?

I don't see that parts are any more expensive than the Jap bikes. I can't see why there is such a difference :banghead

gen 2 , akra,s £110 fully comp with protected ncd from bennetts :yes

Finally sorted insurance 300 quid FUlly c....had licence 28 yrs 15 yrs no claims make no difference £2k access which I had to pay waiver....went with mce stated all mods...
What was surprising is my current broker could not find anyone to cover bike, he thought it was the race map but even with just the crash bungs still refused....only standard bike......lucky mce appears to accept the changes...bike sure the same both close on the quotes......they now even ask if you have a tank protector and stickers!!,!
