info required on swapping clocks

Hey all.

My clocks are totalled. The mist of doom turned into a full-on puddle inside and has buggered the matrix, rev needle isn't sweeping and says "service" on dash.

I got caught in a rainstorm and that finished them. I've done the fix on af1 but they r fooked. I'm way out of warranty now so I thought a second hand set might be a possibility.

What's the crack with immobiliser/ keys etc. Will I be able to do the swap myself or is it a dealer job on the computer?
 
I dont think the clocks are just 'plug and play'.I read somewhere that you have to input a code.If you get it wrong,the bike is immobilized.I think a dealer can do it on the Axone meter.
I could of course,be talking complete ballcocks!

as Roy Walker would say..."it's good.....but it's not right"


if you buy replacement clocks, you need to know the code to set them up. they certainally aren't plug & play, mores the pity.

Have your 2 keys to hand

1. Connect clock to loom & then turn on ignition.
2. Using button on left bar enter code (in my case 01234) service will be displayed on clock
3. Go to MENU
4. in MENU, go to DIAGNOSTICS
5. enter 13432
6. Scroll down to CHANGE KEYS & enter (in my case 01234)
(a countdown will start)
7. Turn off ignition and remove key, if any other keys are to be programmed put in to ignition & turn on and off before countdown ends.
8.When all keys are programmed, turn off ignition and wait for countdown to end.
9.Turn on ignition, programming is complete.
10. Cross your fingers & fire her up.

....and I didn't have to get to stage 11!

11. If still dead....go to the Pub & get seriously pissed.



You have GOT to have that code...hope this helps

Grabbed a set of new ie. zero mile clocks on eBay yesterday. It turns out they are coming from Taz. I emailed to ask if the code was provided, but they said its not required on a brand new set. Comes with 2 blank keys. I reckon I can use my old one as long as the blank is on the fob too?

We shall see. If it works I'm happy as these were under £200, saved a fortune on dealer prices.
 
For what it's worth I had my clocks replaced about 6 weeks ago.
Dropped bike off 9am, recieved call at midday asking for me to take my second key down for them to be able to do the job.

Presume both key's needed to be programmed for the immobiliser???

Bike's back in Friday for the 6k service, I politely asked for a V4T as my loaner while mine was in, whatdoyoureckonmychancesofthatare?

rickster its worth a try mucker, I put a Bandit 12 into a dealer to get the brakes fixed and of all the bikes in the shop they gave me an old Divi 600. hope you do better
 
Was that divvy6 from Allan duffus by any chance? My mate put his 09 R1 in for warranty work and that gave him a battered old divvy600 as a loan bike. It nearly killed him! The chain snapped on his way home, just after he overtook a truck. He was not impressed! Turns out it was a trade-in and nobody bothered to check it over before loaning it out.

I'm not impressed either as it happens. Those clocks were an eBay scam. Clearly secondhand and they've been tampered with. Melted keyfobs (to put old chip in new blanks), screwdriver marks on rear of clock surround is also cracked and its asking for the reset code as soon as I plug em in. I specifically asked for it twice before buying, but he assured me these are new and don't require one. Bollocks!
******* scamming *******s! EBay will be informed in the morning.

So folks, look out for wheelsmotorcycles on ebay, then avoid them!

I bought my bike there and was reasonable happy with the deal,But the more I visit the place,the more I distrust them.I looked at some s/h Akra's that were advertised as immaculate.They were *****,.....filthy from road muck and chain lube,..one can had a dent and the other was scratched where some numpty had slipped with the spanner.
When the next service is due,I'll be booking it into Griffs.:yes

They've also sold off Black Dream Factory petrol tanks on fleabay in the past which I seriously suspect have been exchanged under warranty...

I'm on here now and again Keith, ya cheeky fud! :p

Those clocks were worthy of the bin, nowt else.
Still using my original clocks, mist or no mist. The rev counter is dead, a few missing pixels, but I'm past caring. The bike works, that's what really matters.

How do I find out my own bikes code, as a matter of interest?
 
Trial and error I'm afraid.
Usually, it's something like 11111, 22222,33333, or 12345, 01234 etc....

Brand spanking new clocks come coded 00000, so you can set them to whatever you like.
 
give Griff a call at aprillia performance he fitted my secondhand clocks and programmed keys in 1/2 hour ,he come to Scotland on his tour days
