P.Q. Canada.
I was lucky enough to go to the Inaugural Indianapolis MotoGP :devious as they say and since I spent a week there I got to meet lots of MotoGP freaks most from the US for sure, but would you gess who were the second most numerous... Great Britain !!! Many from England and one fellow from Scotland. Even at my hotel, who was at the farthest from the track, some gents from England were there. Also met people from Spain and Italy and Canada for sure. But the farthest came from New Zealand... NOW that's far!!! Anyway, I was hoping to get to see the bikes, the pits and the racers up close. Got to see Casey's, Vale and Nicky bikes real up close to the point I could touch them, so very happy with that.:doug Got to see the garages at a 20 feet range, good. And a few racers, while I was visiting the museum some guy in a blue shirt got my attention, a Rixla+ Suzuki kind of blue... went to see up close and who's there... Chris Vermulen doing a kind of interview or else for television, got to shake is hand and wish him good luck, so was I happy?!! :biggrin
Got this magnificient book about the 990cc era with lots of pictures ,so I take notes about who's rider nicest pics are, just in case I get some autograph. Anyway while walking the garage at some point I come across those two Japaneses guy's wearing San Marino shirts... not sure I look in my book, there's a pic of Shinia Nakano, yes yes, it's him and another autograph.:thumbup
But all the while we're waiting to get close to the racer's who are on the start finish line for some pictures taking by the press. Get this, here come this guy who litterally yanks the book from my hands, look's at it and start telling me that they should have sell more of this book and Bla bla bla.I look at him and say to myself, hey I know him, he's the guy that do the commentating on the British TV, big fellow with a large beard...its...its... Julian Rider, son of a gun, the same name that's on the book... I tell im, I'd like Colin Edwards to sign this pic of him, if he just could come near, Julian grab the book and goes and get me the autograph. Now, is that lucky or what?:jack Honestly, seeing all those rider so close yet so far as you could tell they woul'nt come too close so as not to have to sign all day, except for ONE, who, you could see, he was'nt afraid to come close and meet people and talk to them and who do you think he is... well, none other than James Toseland and he came by and very graciously sign my book altought it did'nt contain one pic of him. I say you have a mighty fine ambassador and now understand why you call him KING JAMES, he's certainly tops with me, I'll say.:doug:eatcorn:thumbup

What a fantastic day you had there Drouin955 especially meeting some of the riders. I agree also that JT is a top guy having met him a couple of times.

Great write up there Drouin. It certainly sounds like a time of great memories had and to be shared over the years :thumbup Julian Ryder is a great guy, always makes me laugh.

[/IMG] Here on this picture beside Colin Edwards at the forefront you can spot... from right to left: Pedrobot with blue cap leaving the picture,Nicky who's hiding Vermulen, behind the big beard photograph is Shinia Nakano hiding Capirossi, then Valentino, Ben Spies who did well, and King James, behind the guy with the arms in the air is Casey Stoner my favorite rider and Melandri who'd rather not be seen at all.
