Heading to Imola for the WSB round :bigsmile

Has anyone done that run before? Any good routes we should know about? Any odd stuff we need in Italy? (Got spare bulbs and the usual documents)

Given ourselves 3 days to ride down(so scope for a little time in the Alps) with a day for the F3 launch at Varese on Friday (couldn't resist as it was on the way) b4 superpole on Sat....Gonna be awesome, just hope Haslam is fit.

P.S.
Just bought an RSV (never had a twin b4, just ZX6s, GSXRs,etc) had it serviced and took it for a run yesterday for the first time in good weather....holy ****, why have i not got a twin b4? A-frickin-mazing. Going to fit grip pads (techspec) as i was sliding every where...loving the engine breaking. The low revs caught me out a few times thought... i was just crusing until i looked down at the speedo...they can move alright for a big bike. And feel light in the corners. And i don't think they are uncomfortable at all. And it started first time.

PPS - and the RSVR is sooooo the best looking bike on the road (in my very biased opinion) just need some cans now.

Cheers,

Nik (very proud new RSVR owner and complete twin convert)

Might actually be in love with this bike...post bike trip bonding it might have a name...or at least start refering to it as "she".

I know what ur talking about, this is my first vtwin, let alone first italian bike and I love 'her', had a fair few bikes in the past but just been small 2 strokes or bigger inline 4's....and I dont think ill ever go back to them, for some reason the jap bikes ive owned have been great bikes for the money that I can afford but they seem to feel mass produced, 'mille' has personality, and been a labour of love but ive never regretted a moment, things could have gone better sometimes but when im flying down the road I dont look back :)

Good luck with the run to Imola, sounds like a great trip, sorry I cant help with advice with the journey but couldnt help but comment on ur new found love :p

See above ^exactly my same thoughts on my first v twin and lovin it more every ride out...........................I've driven a car to italy in 14 hours so 3 days is plenty if you wanna go scratchin around the alps!! Have fun!!

My advice. Watch the fook out for Italian drivers. They're nucking futs. My wife and I toured Italy years ago in a rented Alfa Romeo. Mistake # 1, every boxy Fiat wanted to race us and every tour bus wanted to kill us. Mistake # 2, was actually driving in Italy! Be careful brother... and elbow an Italian for me!
