Hi everyone again,

Does anyone know how to adjust the idle speed on the 04/05 RSVR Factory.

:confused

The manual doesnt say..is it a big secret as my zx6r had a wee wheel adjuster under the left hand side fairing...im assuming its a more difficult task on this bike:jack

only ecu adjustable im afraid!!
cant be done !
why do you wanna adjust the tickover mate??
Griff

thanks for the advice guys..
Griff a mate of mine who instructs at track days gave me this advice as on the track my wheel locks up onentry to most bends at speed when gearing down due to there being no real slipper clutch..he upped his idle speed after the same problem a wee bit and said it helped but he said not too much and said blipping the throttle could help...

However i heard also that u shouldnt blip the rsv as the hydralic clutch wouldnt work effectively thus making the chatter worse..!!

Dont know what to do...thing goesnear sideways in the wet on the track!#

Will a little adjustment help??

PPS Griff, ill confirm dates next Tues re servicing if that alrite mate?

Had my 2001R idle set to 2000rpm, but as said this can't be set by an adjuster on your bike Graham.

PS Graham i have stuck a post in the for sale section for you:thumbup

Hi graham!
The slipper clutch on these bikes does work but isnt upto much im afraid it is a very old design that lifts two of the clutch plates while the clutch is still engaged, so yeah its ok.....but thats it!
If you blip the throttle when you change gear and enter the corner then youve already got the clutch disengaged so that will stop the clutch slip ish i suppose......
dont listen to the person who told you that the clutch would be effected like that mate its not true!
To be honest mate if the bike going sideways in the wet then i think youre trying too hard and getting yourself ties in knots, back off a touch and try and smooth everything else out. its sounds like your trying to hard in the wet and makin everything hard on your entry to the corner , im sure your mate will agree that if you slow down a bit and concentrate on smoothing the entry rather than times and you'll actually make the life easier for you and your bike and the times will drop accordingly.

suspension will help as well, soften things up a touch dude compliance is the name of the game here, and feel. :devious

im afraid tickover adjustment just cant be done here im afraid, sorry :dunno

give us a ring and we'll hook you up for a service any time mate no worries .

i hope this helps dude stay in touch and let me now how you get on!
Cheers
