you are going to enter into a love hate relationship, but when its running right, there is nothing like an rsvr :doug

Ill put on some pics when ive cleaned it to my standards!! What kind of electrical mods? Most reports/reviews seem to be very positive with few issues to worry about. It is due a service so will have to find a good local specialist

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum and for becoming a proud owner of an RSV. My only advice is to enjoy your new purchase - you will not regret a moment. If you let us know where you are, folk on here will direct you to a reputable dealer (who doesn't wear a **** turpin mask when taking your payment) :thumbup

check out the how to section....

loads to do but dont get too tied down working on it...go and ride it :thumbup

then come back and tell us how much fun it is

Keep it on charge with a Ctek or optimate charger.

Dont give full throttle on starting, or attempt to start it if battery low.

Chain should have 22mm of movement max

Put a 180 rear tyre on it

Change to a 14bs battery

150 amp solenoid

Do the wire charging mod to get rid of the brown connector.

overall the rotax lump is a good un

Great advice guys. I am in Wolverhampton so any local knowledge of reputable places for servicing would be good.

Cheers

huh :confused where's that one from Tim :dunno and 180 tyre is a personal choice imo.

Agree with the 14 battery and keep on optimate :thumbupthese lumps need a healthy battery to turn it over to prevent sprag clutch damage. Other than that just ride it and enjoy...any issues will soon be sorted or diagnosed on here and there's some clever guys more than willing to help out :thumbup

Just got my first RSV too on Sunday, needs a bit of work, but really looking forward to it.

got a honda firestorm and a SP1, so gonna be interesting to compare

Now do you see what you've started chris? this is regular occurance.

Tips from me really echo what the others have written. Other than that: If it can be bled, bleed it, fairly regularly ish. Servicing at home is easy. Brakes are easy to sort. get you degree in physics to be able to work out how to use the dash and lastly. let her breathe. they love air filters and aftermarket cans.

Also with the new bike comes this new board. Without it my bike would be a heap of melted plastic/carbon fibre and rubber. Most guys here are awesome selfless guys but some mods have a reputation. I don't get involved as i'm let to believe censorshi.....

Ill stick with standard tyre I think! Sp1 hey!!! I nearlly went for one but the mille seemed to offer a lot of bike for the money. I do love the sp though.

I do want to do a lot of work myself on it so ill be a regular on here i think. I have a renegade airbox, WSB akrapovic full system and PC3 on it so it should breathe well

Cheers everyone for the warm welcome. I might post something new now to provocke some debate. Its always fun

22MM of free chain movement is what the guys on AF1 recommend :nana I agree with them as it makes the gear changes slicker.

190 55 thats a **** choice as it rubs on the muduard. :nana

ps In reality the choice is yours on the rear tyre.

Look what i started. Ill see how it goes. Diablos on it have lots of life left yet. Dont think ill ride it hard enough oir do any track work to see difference.

In terms of getting the little bugger serviced etc...in your area the guy you want to get in touch with is Griff...better known on here as Fusebox, who operates out of Tamworth (cracking bloke who really knows RSV's) Apart from that get used to it & enjoy!
