Hey guys. It's been a long time since I chimed in. Just wanted to let you all know you have been my bread and butter for source and knowledge. So thank you for all the help.:thumbup

I finally found a yamaha dealer here that ordered the starter relay for me. I popped it in and the old baby fired up with no problems. I drove it that morning to the inspection and turned her off to wait my turn. The inspector flagged me over when it was my turn and she fired up again. I rode up the the inspector and she wouldn't shut off. I tried the kill switch and nothing. The battery was taking a beating as it just tried to cylce through the whole starting process. So I turned the key back on and just let it run. I assume I got a bad (new) relay. I barely made it home since it chewed on my battery pretty good. Any ideas other than it possibly being a screwed (new:dowhat) relay. The part number is 4KD-81940-00-00. And on the yellow sticker on the actual relay it reads the following: Relay - MS5D-611 -12V.

The positive side to all this is the guy passed me anyway and I put the old relay in and she still runs great.
