How the bejesus do you get the front sprocket off? My chain sbnapped, have new chain and sprockets but a bit stumped with the front :dunno

Yes its normal anti clock and should just undo if you put it in first gear and it should allow you to undo no problems:thumbup

Yes Anti-clockwise, 32mm and breakover bar. Had my wife stand on the rear brake, but my chain was still there.

The chain is contiuous and you want to break it and install with a master link? Grind off the two nibs of any side plate on the chain and drive them out with a flat punch and a hammer. Don't forget to back up the chain with something heavy and hard, like a bigger hammer.

Torque the pinion(front sprocket) to 50NM, no more. At this time, you may consider a 15-tooth pinion if not already installed. Much better.

its putting a chain back on I'm struggling with, have it on paddock stand asnd new link through but can't pinch up the new link as ther riveter is knackered despite being brand new, it won't open up to fit over chain

If you have a split link, you could use that just to ge tthe bike to someone who has a working punch!

:deviousAll done :biggrin and bike back together, no screws/washers/nuts missing or left over
