How to remove click clamp from hose?

Hi

I have a coolant leak from the upper part of the rubber pipe just before the radiator. The leak is coming from in between the pipe and the clamp.

Looks like I need to replace the rubbish standard type hose clamps with some decent stainless steel jubilee clamps.

Can anyone tell me how you actually remove these stock clamps? Do you need a special tool? Thanks.
 
Snap got my bike out today and doing the same from the same hose must be cheap clips
cant help on how to remove them but need to do mine as well
 
I dont know which one precisly are you talking about, but they can all be removed with the help of a normal small screwdriver.

For the bigger ones, you need to turn out the screw on then, so that the clip expands.

Smaller ones are just hooked together, you need to insert the screwdriver where they are locked and turn it and it will pop.
 
A decent pair of cutting plyers (sorry dont know the correct term here) should do the trick.

Go to halfords boys,they do the correct pliers for removal & refiting,about £15
wouldnt be without mine now
 
Bugger me thats 3 of us. Mine is the same and the only thing that has stopped me replacing both clamps is I cant work out how to get the old ones off:confused
 
That makes 5 of us ...................... I'm removing from oil pipe .....
Manual says Click Clamps can be removed with a pair of pliars ..........
I'm Going to give it a go today .................
 
You need to get the right plyers like Vinnie says. Griff put me onto them a couple of years agao and there is a certain satisfaction when you click the clip back up. Hmmm
 
The easiest way I have found to remove the click clamps if you don't have the correct tool is a pair of electricians side cutter pliers, just grip and twist :thumbup

If you want stainless steel clips or any other nuts and bolts these are good

But if you have silicone hoses it's best to use the jubilee clips with turned up edges as normal ones cut into the hoses.
