how to code new key

Hi everybody

i just bought an 05 rsv factory it has one key that works and another that fits in the lock and turns on the light and all but cannot start the bike the previus owner told me it had to be coded by a dealer
i am just wondering if anybody knows how to do it so i dont have to travel far and pay alot to get it done
any info is welcome

Mister minute on the high street there the places that fix shoes and cut keys ,chiped a van key for my old transit they use a computer to input the code they get direct from the manufacturers cost £55

That's just a short weekend trip to the UK

Assuming it's a proper Aprilia key with a chip in it and not an unchipped ebay clone then it has to be learnt by the immobilisor. On the Rsv you match the bike immob to the key codes rather than the other way round.

You need a dealer or someone with a blue or red master key. That puts the immobilisor into learn mode so it reads the code from the new key.

thanks for the inputs

i have contacted the nearest dealer, he was wery frendly and told me that they had not been dealer for wery long,but that he would find out what to do(getting a red/blue key) and get back to me
