Good Evening mod Lovers:grinning

My Question is how many Fork Rings do You have showing through the Top Yoke?

When i had my old SV1000s i dropped the Yokes 12mm down the Forks & it made a fair difference to the Steering of the Bike.

I currently have 3 Rings showing on My Mille, is this standard? & What do You all run & recommend?

Many Thanks.

As with anything its down to whats right for you but I think most of the guys have 4 rings showing . I've always known dropping the front makes the bike steer a bit quicker but then again raising the back a little has a similiar affect . Most of the adjustments are in your owners manual ie compression , rebound etc , I've gone between race and road on mine .

I havent changed mine yet. Infact (naughty I know) but I havent even checked sag. I got it in september and it feeels so good I havent found anything limits me yet. As a general rule (with the usual except of sag) I ride until the bike limits me in one way then adjust it to expand the limits until I out ride them then adjust again. If your steering or wanting to quicker than the bike can steer I would say try it, otherwise its change for the sake of change. I dont need mine to steer quicker for now, so I have left it as it is, if I felt it needed to be more front end bias to gain a bit of feel that would be different but its good as is. Even sag hasnt been an issue as yet, as I`m not pushing hard enough to use all my travel and It generates good mechanical grip so I`ll sort it in summer when I can get a feel for where the limits lay :)

I asked Griff (well Lewis) when i did the head bearings, 4 for the road, 3 for the track was what he recommended

Mine was at 4 before i dropped the forks out anyway so no change for me

think you mean 3 for road and 4 for track as 4 is quicker steering .:thumbup

mines at 4 and the rear shock is at 322mm instead of 321mm

ive lost a stone since i got my bike so im adjusting as i go along (suspension is an individual thing and what suits one may terrify another lol)

that said the standard factory settings for the millie are pretty damn good and most average weight riders will be fine with only minor tweeks.

only thing id say is get your suspension serviced as its often missed (especially ohlins as they need 2 yr service to avoid internal damage)

Guys I've got mine on 6 lines & on the front go 8 clicks out from full hard on rebound & compression - on the back under your seat turn knob full in (hard) about 10 clicks & on bottom go 14 out from full hard, and it works just great. here is a awesome link in how to set up your suspension. All the apes are in there... hope you find this helpful

On the Tuono, (same as the rsvr?) anymore than 3 on the road and there's a chance the wheel will catch the lower part of the rad. tracks being a bit smoother don't usually have many potholes...so it's fairly safe to go to 4.

I'm talking Showas here btw...

On Ohlins RSVR 03 standard setting for road is, ring 4 flush with top of yoke. Set mine to 3 now as I've fitted high bars :dunno

Excellent Guys thanks for all the Feedback :thumbup

Will just leave it as is for now.....

C'mon man!!!

You've got to twiddle summat!!!!!!!

If everyone adopted your lazy approach, then absolutely NOTHING would get ****** up would it?
And then where would we all be?
Let me tell you where....
Everyones bike would be more or less OK, and we'd have sod all to argue about.....that's where...

So get out in that friggin' shed, and start twiddling....

My Tuono is set a 5 on showas
