Red one is compression. (speed shock compresses) other is rebound obviously which does the opposite.

Can't give you settings as i've never owned a sachs shod machine.
General rule of thumb is have you suspesnion as soft as you can go without upsetting the bike.

Factory settings are:

Comp 14 clicks out from fully in

Rebound 35 clicks from fully in

Hope this helps

I adjusted mine to standard last week and I think it's the other way round...

comp in top picture is 35 clicks anticlockwise from fully wound in.
rebound is 14 clicks anticlockwise from fully wound in

Hi There all,
I've got a 2003 RSV Mille, anybody know what the standard settings for these 2 are for my bike. My bike also has a Sachs shock, but the top one only has 26 clicks on it fully open to shut..............

according to my haynes you want the top one 12 clicks out from fully wound in.

rebound is adjusted by turning the knurled ring at the bottom of shock. turned anti-clockwise (looking down on it) you want it 20 clicks from fully wound in for standard setting.

Thanks Fazza,
It's pretty much where mine are, thanks for confirming it, the reason why I asked is that the back still seems a bit loose at times and I'm not sure why???
I'm busy playing with the settings at the moment in the hope of finding a really cool setup, 2 clicks at a time.
Thanks again for your input

We have to be careful as from 2001 the shocks changed
