Hi
Am thinking on trading in my XJR1300 for a Tuono V4 and so far all the boxes are ticked

apart from range, so would be interested in how far you can get, if your just poodling along at 70 - 80Mph

Thanks for the reply

That's what the reviews said (don't always take them as gospel)

that's about the same as my XJR1300 then, I was getting 160 on a tank going down through France at a steady 80, but that's a 21 litre tank.

From reading other V4T forums it seems to make a difference what mode the bike is in.In 'street' mode it looks like you get the best mpg.
The best seems to be around 120 miles to a tank and worse 75-80 miles.

Anything less than 130 Miles is cutting it fine as a mile muncher, one of the fuel stops on my planned route down to Grenoble via Reims was 140 Miles

With some proper hooning around, I have had as little as 73 miles to the light, and in 3500 miles or so, have yet to get more than 95. There is also some concern from others, as to actually how much there is left from the light, some have run out after 9 miles, and others have had over 30.
I have yet to really use mine in Road mode, and have mainly kept in Sport and sometimes Track. I am also the first to admit that I have not been gentle in my use of my T, and have pretty much been using it to it's full potential wherever and whenever possible ... I have done little or no gentle riding or cruising around these last few months ... I am not saying it is not capable of doing this, it's just not been on my list of activities recently.

I usually get about 90 miles out of mine before the light comes on. Last time out I got 86. It's not a bike to compare with the XJR though, and it's not a bike to poodle about on - take one for a test ride and you'll see what I mean!

It's a true sports bike through and through, with no compromises apart from the higher handlebars. The most exciting, stupid grin inducing bike I have ever owned, bar none. :crazy

Mine could but it's a plain old V2. Best I've done is 138 I think b4 light on.

ffs, the T aint no mile muncher and the v4 certainly isn't, if you want a mile muncher, buy a beemer or stick with your old man's xjr !!
The v4 t is a proper, full on "weapon", fuel consumption should not and does not figure with owning one....ITS A SPORTSBIKE....

I used to do a lot of mile munching on all of my Gixer 1000's "Sports Bikes" and very good they where at it to

and riding back from John o'groats at silly o'clock to fort william where we left our tents in the rain, the last thing I want is to run out of fuel.

As a direct comparison my Tuono V2 with Power Commander & custom maps I now usually get about 75miles B4 light comes on. Was 90 B4 the upgrades. I believe the tank is 17.5Ltrs
On my new stock Fireblade with similar riding style & tank capacity I am getting 145miles b4 the light comes on & Computer says about 45MPG you can see the differance however I don't hang about. forgot to mention am running 15-42 sprockets.
Did you get that Stix 145miles before the light comes on which means we could travel for more than 3/4 hr 60miles before I start getting twitchy.

Wow Mick that's more miles than I get! It must make a change not stopping every half an hour......;)

Fantastic especially as I don't smoke. Could probably extend my circular routes by about 40 miles for any given two hour fudd about.

Definitely. Have to give me a go of your blade next time. Always fancied one :thumbup

But you have to keep the T. I just sorned both the blades & keeping Mrs T for the occasional opportunistic ride throughout the winter.

Power delivery makes so much more sense for most A & B road riding & upright control / balance better for wet & greasy conditions.

Welcome to try the Repsol Blade out though when we next get together. I'm a bit reluctant to go on a T Fudd about with the Blade. A bit like taking your new mistress out on parade with friends of your old girlfriend.

I'd love to but Id be too scared I'd drop it!

When was the last time you dropped bike. The only time I ever drop mine is off the paddock stand or off the side stand. You could always have a go on the old 929 blade if you'd feel more comfortable about that.

Last & only time was my first bike but yes I would feel comfier on the old one!
