how do you drop the Rotax?

I removed all the bolts, well at least that's what I thought. two from the left front, two from the right front, on from the left rear, one from the right rear and I removed the one on the left by the kickstand and I thought i did the right bottom one too on the opposite side of the kick stand however the **** won't drop down! I shook it even thought about jumping on it. I see not freaking connction and well one of a sudden I realized that there are two hex nuts with philip(cross) washers. inside the mounting point on the right rear of the bike is this what's holding the motor? I temporary put the bolts back for suppose I hope my buddies dog would lick off the leaked coolent off the bike and drop the bolts and then the motor which I couldn't in the middle of the night. so in short words; do you think those hex bolt looking things are holding the motor? I don't have the big allen key or the Cross tool for that now. Do I need a special tool for this job? :dowhat

well Iguess I typed so much can someone tell me if I need a special tool to remove the motor on a 2000 mille? thanks

You have a spacer on the upper left engine mount which can just be knocked out

Ideally you need to loosen the castle nuts
It is possible to loosen them off by winding threaded spacer using an allen key, but its tight

Also theres 2 spacers on one side of the front engine mounts

you need to knock out the spacer as stated, back off the mount with the allen key and if your lowering the motor out rock it off the lug that is by the engine mount.

it's not the simplest of motors to remove

dropping it down or lifting it up with a hoist?

okay i'm very confused I thought I didn't have to look at the manual now Im on 2000 Mille shop Manual page 130 and I do have spacers on the RIGHT Side, B and A I assume these are upper [rear] engine mounts?
it says on page 131 "use the special setscrew spanner(optional) (53) (cod. 8140203) to loosen and remove the lock rings(41) (37) [41 and 37 are on the right side by the left/rear side of the clutch cover ]...

I will take the bus tomorrow and walk to get to my buddy's garage, we don't have the allen key, aprilia's tool kit comes with one but it's too soft. it doesn't work. I initially wanted to drop the engine on a block with wood while picking up the bike and dropping it to the side however we have an hoist if it's going to be easier for this job. Do I need to remove those lock(castle nut? ) rings (41) and (37) are those the ones you guys were talking about on the RIGHT? not the left? What size is the allen key for that? i could use an extension pipe or a wrench to remove it. Please tell me what size Allen I need to complete the job. is it 13mm by chance? thanks :pirate

I dont have a manual with me but certain engine mounts are fixed (ie solid) and others are adjustable by the allen key (like the one by the clutch). Un screw the adjustable ones.

I've heard of people using all kinds to get them out on other bikes, but bear in mind you need to tighten it up to refit the motor so I'd measure it and buy the right size allen key.

If it helps, I take the forks out of the bike i'm dropping the motor out of. Lower it to the floor and remove the motor then lifting the frame up and off the motor.

I'm done with mounting the new motor in but one of those adjustable ones on the right! the big hex one is a *****! it's stuck and I stripped an allen key I cannot make the spacer come closer! i even jumped on that and almost put 500 pounds on that it won't move like jealous ex blocking the door! arrrr
