But on the subject of phones or other stuff like insurance, do you guys use a cash-back site like www.topchashback.co.uk?
I have had over £400 back in the last 2 years. It doesn't cost anything to join up and you can use all the usual compare sites to find the best deal, then go to TopCashBack and enter the merchant and see what deals there are, for example for phones you can get around £40-80 back on a pay monthly contract.
Then follow the link from TopCashBank to the provider, like Orange or an insurance company and buy the goods/service as usual, the worst you have to do is fill an application form in again, but for £20-50 off your already best price insurance it's worth it.
All they do is pass the money that they, the service provider, would have paid to the compare site. It normally takes 2-3 months to come through, and then you just claim it and draw it down to your bank or get a cheque.
