How confident are you when cornering?

who cares ... oh. ok ... the midlands. Shropshire
For some reason I find LH bends easier than rights ... and I believe I set myself and my bike far better for them.

On rights ... I never seem to get my line, arse, weight and speed quite right (no mention of 7th April please) which, considering the number of roundabouts in Telford seems odd.

Heres a chap who found leftys more of a challenge

Sooooo....

All bends are easy?

RH bends are easier?

LH bends are easier?

Welly is just a bender?

imo, lefts are easier, due to countersteering taking the pressure of yer throttle hand, giving a better feeling of control.

r/h, pressure is on the throttle side, trying to make yer wrist do 2 things at once.

and as yer missis will tell you..

blokes cant multitask.

Tend to be more comfortable with right handers maybe from my racing days ! As for roundabouts too many covered in diesel. Though it was a right hander where my Daytona **** its pants all over the back tyre closely followed by me doing the same (shitting my pants) lovely slide not quite high side but enough to launch me through the fairing screen and then just hang onto the thing !! Tend to find feel from tyres a major thing some dont let you know before letting go others have nice transition from grip to black lining !

gary i totally agree on that mate

bloke on the video is ( or was ! ) a complete ****. Thats not about not liking left handers, thats about somebody whos got a descent bike and cant ride the ******* thing. He should sell it immediately and buy a very slow ford fiesta.
cornering is the same process left or right, if you dont like left handers practice them more and if you dont like right handers, etc etc etc !! Best thing Welly in all seriousness is to do a few trackdays, safest and best place to practice...
I feel more comfortable on right handers and am right handed, does what "handed" you are have any bearing ??

I like a nice left, followed by a nice right, followed by a nice straight. (Henry Cooper)

I cornered this pre-drunk chick last nite outside a local watering hole...
so I'd have to lean towards 'very confident'

Ha ha ha, but was it a left, then a right, followed by a straight?!!
Sorry, let's get back on topic or I will be in trouble.
You see more scuffed right hand sliders on the road I believe.
Is this solely down to roundabouts and if so do frogs scrape to the left?

Same thoughts as Garry. Enjoy left handers, never feel confident with rights, poss cos the right hand is on the gas.

That is so weird, I like lefts and they feel more natural, but once in a right I am more confident. Very contradictory. Paradoxical even.

I don't think about the difference between lefts & rights....

****!

whadda you go and post this for?....now I'm starting to think maybe right....

or was it left??

FUUUUUUUUUCCCKKKKK!!!!!!!!

ease up (a lot) on the grips. if you ride with some weight on the hands, the throttle gets harder to control in a left turn

Crikey... Do you know, I did not know cornering could be so complicated.
Little bit of throttle and a bit of lean and suddenly a skrisssssh on the knee if you follow me!
Loads of fun!

i used to be more confident on the lefts after i scared myself out of right handers when i decided it would be a good idea to barrell into a tiny round about at about 60mph on my old gsx1100f... knee down, followed by pegs, followed by my head arse and elbow lol

i have to say i'm probably just as confident with both side now, however my body position during cornering is alot better on the right than it is on the left... i'm still working on that bit
