Hi chaps,
It is a little while since I have been on here. So, I swapped my 2004 Tuono fighter for a blade nearly a couple of years back.... a silly mistake! My mate got a new Tuono and I have never been one for matching... but my loss. So I got the blade but either my bike is shrinking, or I am getting bigger, less flexible, and more importantly fed up of my wrists, hip, and back aching, and I want to enjoy riding again! I had salt rubbed in the wound when I saw my old bike overtake me on the M11, PN04 TUV if anyone has her? So I have decided the answer is a new Tuono, I have come back to admitting the tuono is the best bike currently for all reasons, especially with the new deals at £10,999 for a 1100R, or £12,999 for the factory.
So my question.... is the Ohlins, 200 wide rear tyre and paint job worth the £2000 difference?
I intend to keep the bike for at least 10 years, and at some point when she's a bit older take my currently 9 month old baby on the back, and I do about 3-4 trackdays a year. Although my old tuono was still great on the track, so possibly I am err...ing towards the 1100R..... but the factory..... its a bit special isn't it?

It probably is worth the extra especially if you are keeping it for years. Like owners of the older models you would eventually start thinking about upgrading the OE suspension after a few years. See if you can get a test ride on each model to make your mind up

Hi 180slayer,
They only have a factory as a test ride.... my other silly hiccup is.... winter is coming and diablo supacorsa aren't much fun in the wet, but i'll keep the old m7rr for winter for my new tuono from my old blade and put back on the **** dunlop it came with when i part ex it.... so will the 190 tyre be ok without aprc adjustment on the factory?

Not sure if you can muck about with tyre sizes due to the electronics. No doubt someone will answer this for you.

Didnt realize they had dropped the prices . I think if you got the RR you would regret not getting the factory . It has alot of things you normally swap ... it looks better (imho) and when i looked at prices there was only a £750 difference (at my local dealer) . Atm i am looking for my forever bike... i doubt i will buy another new bike and had my Tuono for 10 years . I love the v4 (although still not tried the "new" v4 ) and my other options are the Ktm / Mt10 or Bmw 1200 rs (really good bike)

Im getting married in 2017 so will buy after that so who knows what will be on the market then but i think deep down i will get the Tuono !! (factory :p )

Yeah pop a 190 in there no problem. I had a couple of 190 scrubs in mine this year and no bother at all. Just re calibrate the tcs it takes like two minutes. The factory and the rr have the same ecu. I've just fitted a set of m7rr this week now the weather is turning crap. Inhad them in my 13 tv4 and really liked them.

I've got the factory and love it looks, better in my opinion than the rr and if you're doing track days you will feel the difference in suspension when pushed. But I personally would not fancy the pillion perch :thumbdown

I've read good reports on the rr, but I chose the Factory for looks and the Ohlins suspension, and am happy I did. If the cost differential is small (I paid a lot for the difference) definitely go for the Factory.

Im must agree with Lino's coments. I too have the Factory and didn't want the RR, however the pillon seat is at best usless for an adult, young child may be ok but 10 years is a long time, I think you will have changed the bike by then, or like me have more than 1 bike. So to sum it up Go Factory, think about pillions in 10 years time.
