High milage Rsv's. Any problems?

Morning all,

I'm contemplating buying a high milage Rsv, circa 45,000. Does anyone have any tips to look for? Avoid like the plague?

Having had 2 Rsv's in the past in both guises, I think they're pretty bulletproof but I've no experience in higher milage ones.

Thanks.

It's still running
It makes no worrying noises
I goes like a good'un
?
How longs the bloke had it , a week , 7 years .....?
Is it cheap and what you gonna do with it over the next few years ?
Give it a glorious death , or keep it running
So what's your issues ?
A good motor will cost about £400 from the bay

Look how long its owner has had it look at mots and any history, the longer he's had it the better. I believe the motors are solid as long as they are service regularly

Cool. Any problems?

except for the sprag clutch when i was (very) new into apes none whatsoever. but i'm a motorcycle mechanic and after servicing (too many) hondas the first thing i did was the charging system. lost all connectors and fitted a mosfet (FHxxxx, 0016 in my case) r/r. after changing the sprag instead of going "mainstream" for a 150 starter relay (most people here use yamaha fitted ones) i went for a dacia (renault) one. 350 amps and waaay cheaper (80 lei new, that's about 17 euros). my second mille had 71.000 (that's km, the first one is in miles, about 130.000-140.000 km) and i forgot i had drained the oil out, was drunk at my garage and it was a friend's birthday, o rev'd the hell out of it and after about two minutes i broke a crank bearing. that was the only visible damage. i didn't take measurements of the piston/cylinder/etc. because i rebuilt that engine from scratch. but all other parts looked ok... they're practically bulletproof...
