High air flow Performance open air filter kits

H

hooked

As the title reads guys. High air flow Performance open air filter kits
For the guys i ride with it will be of no surprise that i have posted this thread :biggrin
been a long and Nearly done drawn out process inc lots of moulds, saucing the correct materials from suppliers and R&D well 8 weeks actually but hay its not my full time job plus kids etc etc.

Anyway this is a taster of what I've been doing,This all started as i searched the forum and read the many threads and posts from forum members regarding the different types of performance upgrade filters. IE the Badger, the Homer, the Evo,and the Renegade, there's also the cut your own the wooden etc etc.The 2 mane differences between them sealed box ie evo type, and the open type IE the Renegade. The argument still remains im sure your agree there is the sealed camp, and the open camp.My understanding is the Evo offers Ram air but mid to high end and at speed but looses out low down. And the Renegade offers instant low down and mid range but is the same at the top end.So as a personal choice i chose the later open design. Also led buy the guys i ride with raving on about theres and that i must buy one.

Next was OK where can i buy one from. The occasional used Renegade filter comes up on e-bay £120 but there like rocking horse sh-t. Tried the dealers and there all sold out and have been for months also when you could buy not much change out of £200.00 depending on dealers

Write then i want one you guys want them.I will make the how hard can it be
Ha Fu-king Ha.Its not easy at all.And that's why there that much to buy i suppose, anyway persevere and well Ive cracked it well nearly

Below is a detailed link to photo-bucket, where i have chosen 13 of the over 100 pictures Ive taken during the build unlucky for some but not me. pictures with detailed write up on each picture.

There will be x4 different prices when im done i will post them with a link to this thread in the for sale section.

1 ... carbon lacquered ...... TBA

2 ... carbon ......TBA

3 ... prepreg glass (aircraft quality ) ....TBA

3 ... Fibreglass ( aircraft quality ) .....TBA

all will be aircraft Epoxy resin ..and stand heat well

The fibreglass one has a the white is a gel-coat finish so it will yellow / brown through time. This is a good coat for a paint finish. I would imagine these would look smart painted with a heat resistant paint.

The Pre-preg glass, actually weighs the same as the carbon one but is stronger ,construction is glass pre-preg with a foam core for local stiffening.

And then of course there is the Carbon plate ive shown it twice as there's going to be a difference in price depending on weather you want plain carbon,or the polished lacquered version.

Each kit depending only on your choice of material for the base plate, will come with the following: Plate,K&N style mini filter,Piper cross 150 bhp high flow filter, extended oil breather hose & Jubilee clip,And Duz fixing clips to attach/remove piper cross filter.

You will Reg from your old OEM filter box. The trumpets/Stacks and fasting screw x4,the original x6 throttle body screws and the little metal plate for the sensor. That's it folks

This is a taster of whats hooked has been up to see pictures in link

:thumbupOK guys here's the prices:thumbup
There are x4 different prices in price order .The price will inc recorded postage and packaging to your door.:eatcorn

The reason for the different prices is purely your budget, they all do the same job just different appearance and weight.( however the heaviest & cheapest fibreglass one has with the white is a gel-coat finish ) is at least half the weight of the OEM airbox :biggrin

The price excludes PAYPAL charges @ 3.4% plus .20p

1 ... carbon lacquered ...... £157.50

2 ... carbon ......£127.50 ( This was the one pictured fitted to my bike )

3 ... prepreg glass (aircraft quality ) ....£110.00

3 ... Fibreglass ( aircraft quality ) .....£100.00

all will be aircraft Epoxy resin ..and stand heat well

The fibreglass one has a the white is a gel-coat finish so it will yellow / brown through time. This is a good coat for a paint finish. I would imagine these would look smart painted with a heat resistant paint

There will be x1 prepreg and x5 white Fibreglass ready to be posted out in approx 7 days:doug. These will be on a first come first served basis. However after that all plates will be available for order with approx i week turn around which i can confirm on order.:eatcorn
:exclamation:exclamationConfirm your request/order in the for sale section please :exclamation:exclamation

Filter kits and models

:thumbup:thumbup Sorry guys the filter kit are for the early shape right though until the last Edwards model of 2003 :thumbup:thumbup
Im working on the new shape and will post again when these are right :biggrin

One pre-preg for me please craig :thumbup

( can these be painted like the fibreglass ones :dunno, but not really bothered if not, as it wont be seen anyway :biggrin)

Very interested in one of your fibreglass ones please!....Spending more money on that bloody bike!

I have a renegade airbox on my RSV, "love that sound" gives you a hard on.
This is a brilliant mod for any RSV well worth it. After having the base plates made up and sorted, Hooked then needed to go out and get hold of all the extras...I know this has proven to be very hard work and he has really put some hours into this project.....so much so!! that now his airboxes are in my mind better than the renegade just because of the little extras. All this at a fraction of the cost as he says.
Role up guys......you will not get a better price than this......I paid £120 for mine second hand and not really in good condition. these filters are as rare as rocking horse *****....so get one whilst he has them!!! you will not be disappointed.

That's the only pre-preg gone then from the first batch :thumbup

Will there be fitting instructions for the erm, mechanically ******** (Me) lol. Does the airbox stay open of do you put the lid back on (Sorry for the stupid question!)

I would like to order a pre-preg pls....can paypal it or cheque/draft.who do i pay...cheers

Your original airbox has to be removed completely and the renegade copy screws onto the throttle bodies in it's place :thumbup

right then i ride with hooked and suggested he has a renegade:devious he then went a stage further and invested time and money to make these for you guys from scratch as he couldn't get a renegade anywhere! i can tell you i have had my renegade for about 2 years and i have seen these(the ones hooked has made) and agree with smiffy that you get more for your money i paid £200 for mine and you don't even get a breather filter with the original renegade is far more expensive than craigs and his is just the same quality but with the added extras and a cheaper price you lucky fookers.

for the guy who says do you place the original box back on top of the plate:devious quality mate that was a joke right?????
or do you work at halfords:lol:lol

The link on this thread doesn't take you to the photos on photobucket :confused but it does on your other thread :dunno did you copy and paste that thread on to the for sale one ? maybe the link was scrambled somehow :dunno thought you should know :thumbup

Fella,you don't need instructions,fairly straight forward,& don't put the lid back on..:coocoo.:thumbup
