HID Xenon Main Beam

A

amb67

Anyone done a true HID Xenon main beam conversion on the old shape Mille?

If yes I have a few questions for you. :devious

If no then it looks like I'm gonna be the test pilot again. :roll

you mean the outer 2?

i've ordered a single kit to do just the central dipped beam and will be adding a diode in to the wiring to keep the centre dipped beam on with main beam outers.

HID main beam would not be ideal imo as it takes a little time to strike up. i suppose as long as you have the diode mod to keep dipped beam it would be ok though

Yeah the outer two at the top.

I have the dipped beam HID conversion done already and that fires up and obtains full power in 5 seconds or less, plus the switch mod has been done too.

Agreed it would not be much use if your on a main road and flicking it on and off but with me in the lanes of Kent I can virtually leave it on all the time.

Reckon I'm just gonna have to do some calculations and see if the standard wiring will take a dual Xenon main beam kit as well as the dipped beam HID.

should be no problem as the HID kit uses less power than the std halogens.

i went to fit my kit yesterday and discovered i'd ordered an H7 kit instead of an H4 kit :banghead

hold up...i've just got an h7 kit ...have i been led up the garden path :dunno

i'm not doing the main beam

i also have a 2000 mille and the dipped beam is H4. i got mine off ebay, aurora engineering, and they will exchange it for me.

Mark, I have not led you up the garden path mate, Mine was a H7 kit,
you have got me thinking now...I have just been out and got the old bulb out ...its an H7

The norm is no ears on the fairing = H4 or ears = H7

That is unless some buggers fitted them to an old shape nose cone. :roll
