HID conversion and GP1 Gear indicator

M

Mick Oliver

Just fitted HID conversion seems even brighter than main beam:thumbup:biggrin:biggrin
Fitted a GP1 gear indicator fitted great apart from they got the wiring connections colours wrong so got that right and fitted it inside the screen centrally which definately takes the gess work out of which gear am I in but did not have the guts to set up the shift light because you have to rev it to max on at standstill but that would up set the locals as I have got the GP can fitted I bought from Smiffy :thumbup:thumbup:biggrin:biggrineven my boys say its to loud and I am asking for a nick but I did fit a near legal number plate to offset the exhaust :thumbup

Mick, what is the correct wiring then? How long did it take you to wire in etc?

You did fit a near legal number plate to offset the exhaust - well, that's alright then innit? :thumbup :biggrin

hehe near legal :confused so it's illegal then, tut tut you naughty thing you :whipping

Which HID conversion did you use...lamp wattage etc :dunno was thinking of doing this, but i hardly ever get caught out on the bike when it's dark and have just done the dipped beam mod so i might be better spending my money elsewhere :dunno

This is the gear indicator indicator fitted:biggrin I made a mounting bracket up to fit it with because it has a bolt on the back and then it connects to the dash loom (splicing and soldering the wires in ) it does give you the wiring colours but was wrong:dowhat on the rpm wire which I traced on the cct diagram and found the right one for mine.:thumbup
Then all you do is connect the grey wire to earth run it up in each gear to 2k disconnect the wire and job done.:thumbup:thumbup:biggrin
Works great and cost about £60to £70 cant remember exact from E bay supplied from Holland but came in 3days:thumbup it was a lot nicer than the acumen one and doesnt need a casing to set it off comes in different colours as well this one has a blue display background and black digitsI think thats all it comes in
I put it in line of sight but mine is under a double bubble but I dont know if it would fit under a standard screen but there is a bit of clearance above but I think it makes a neat job:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin
