Hi guys.

i have just got my Tuono 2011 1000r and wondered if anybody has fitted HID kits. I took my twin hid kits of my Tiger 1050 before
i sold it so was looking at fitting this. They are H7 bulbs but ebay will sell me a pair of H11 for £12.00 so would like to fit if possible.

Has any body done this and if so how easy, where to hide ballasts and any pics.

Thanks

I haven't done it (yet), but also did it to my last bike.

Would be interested to see how this unfolds.

I think that there is very limited space even for small digital ballasts unless they are maybe secured under the air ducts.

This is what has stopped me doing it up to now. The slimline ballasts were easy to hide on the R1 in between the headlights behind the fairing, but with the V4 being nekked it's a lot harder.

Got the Hids fitted and wondered if any of you guys know how hot the ballasts get.
Fitted behind the front nose cone, don't think they will melt anything but time will tell.

I am considering switching to HID's. Are the HID's significantly brighter? Any ballast or bulb failures? What HID's did you use (ballast and bulbs)?
Thanks.

I've used updated normal filament bulbs. The Tuono lights are actually quite good for motorcycle units I find.

My hornet headlight....that's another matter (tut, sigh)

Philips Crystal Vision are an alternative direct replacement bulb for that Hid look :thumbup

Used them on a few of my bikes including the TV4
