Hi everyone:thumbup

Have just become the proud owner of a black 2006 T, only 1500 miles and, as you would expect, like new. I've had a couple of Aprilia's now, the old shape Mille and an RSV1000R which I part exe'd for the T.

I decided to go for the T because I'm not getting any younger and the riding position with the RSV was killing my wrists and lower back so I wanted something with a bit more upright riding position but also wanted similar performance.

Have only ridden it back from the dealers (about 20 miles) and I am very happy with my decision to swap as it is a fantastic bike.

Looking forward to getting to know some of you on here and will post some pics when I have them.

Tony.

Welcome to the club.

I had the same reasons as you for a change except mine was from a blade and can say that 6months on the T is still brilliant.

Enjoy.

G'day and welcome to the Zone Tuonotone.

I think many of us looked at this type of bike for similar reasons. Once you've ridden one, there's no turning back. Plus, you have bought the fastest colour.

Some pics would be very welcome. There a a couple of pic threads here now - one of owners and their bikes, and one for touring shots.

Cheers

Another fastest colour chiming in. Welcome to the silliness, both the forum and your Tuono. Do another 20K on it and then rethink why you bought the silly thing. I did... and now I want another one to play with so that the missus can keep up. I'm thinking a Factory this time. Bloody nobby and his new cans... *******.

Don't mind Shvl, he is in the throes of cans envy, and has a deep-seated gold-frame fetish.

And Chunkster is just jealous cuz he wishes he was as good looking and de-boner as moi... Ah well, at least he followed in my footsteps as to getting the best looking Tuono...

Ahhh, you've seen right through me again, my large framed friend:yes

hello all

evn'n all, just moved to fluro red 07 T, i bought it as an ex demo with a 1000 k's, i've moved from an ssie ducati, riding position had a bit to do with the change and a couple of mates have tuono's as well so i could see how the T's went, i've only done 700k's so far so i'm still getting used to it all but it seems to be all good. i might ask my first question, i have found a good deal on some micron slipons, anyone had these on a tuono ? are they any good.
cheers bloodnut

Thanks for the welcome guys. I must admit, the black ones do look the fastest! I was wondering what the best gearing would be for the T (15/44, 15/42 or 16/44). I was told the best for the Ape was 15/42 but am not sure about the T.
As it is a 2006 model will it have the jet .40 mod already as standard?
I have got the Yam solenoid to fit (took it off the Ape before part ex) and I am looking for some race cans, so if anyone knows where there are any for sale, let me know.

Tuonotone, hello. Are you a nesbit ?
If not you may need a Scottish dictionary on here.

Bloodnut ? Hello but where the heck has that come from ?
Microns are good but I don't think they make them anymore. Don't be put off buying them tho:thumbup

I'd see how you get on with it first before you start altering things. It might suit you as it is, give it a good few hundred miles of different roads etc. It might even have the gearing changed as some just do it. I am more than happy with mine set standard.
Get some proper cans tho and map 2. By the way have you noticed the fine Quill cans for sale on here at a very reasonable price???????

Sorry about the blatant hard sell boys :devious:sneaky2:p

G'day Bloodnut, welcome to another Aussie to the Zone.

We need to educate our Northern brethren: Bloodnut - adj, someone with striking red hair

Unlike you Nobi, with no hair, I mean.

Re your question fellow Antipodean Tuono rider: I have not heard a bad word about any slip-on system on this or the AF1 forum. It seems to be whatever floats your boat. The only proviso is that you get your injection mapping changed to reflect the change of cans (map2 is required):thumbup

Spose Bloodnut has a hint of Jock in him then ??
Getting severley outnumbered on here gonna have to go recruitin.:megaphone

You're a hard man Nobi:kicknuts

Have I missed something? Are you selling those sexy, high mounted Quills of yours???:eek

Nope, rather sell a kidney. The old ones are for sale tho . Put em on here somewhere. Probably wrong threader as I aint got no interest as yet.

400mm oval by the way:thumbup 200 sterling as is or 250 polished if anyone would like to replenish my dwindling pot.
