Been biking fior a few years and this is my first aprillia, found myself a 'y' reg, 2000 plate, with 14000 miles, for a little over £2000, had a r1 before that which was rapid...but for some reason the rsv feels more 'special', and ive had more trouble with this bike then any of the others lol but when shes working it all make sence :p
ive had the usual sprag issue and ended up buying a ktm one :) wihch fitted nicely with a little modding, and my main clutch started to slip on high revs...so bought myself a Barnett racing clutch, alittle solid for my taste, and even with the lever pulled in still feels under slight load...but im sure it will never slip again lol, a long with 2 new rear diablos because of punctures thats it :doh

ive got a small amount of money coming and decided to buy a slip on can and a performance air filter, for a man who on a budget (missus has just pushed out a baby) what should i go for? did like the look of the renagade airfilter kits, anyone do a non-carbon one that would be a little cheaper?

Olli.

Hi welcome to the Zone, you will find loads of help on here. Have a look at Aprilia performance web site based in Tamworth they do a Hooked carbon air Filter System. Great bike the Aprilia love mine. Having had a few Duc's I think I like the Ape better especially when I fitted the power commander Smooth as silk now. Ride safe buddy enjoy.

lots of decent cans on ebay and its a case of what you want to pay really.

one things for sure don't drop the oe can on your foot when you remove it as you wont be riding for mths :thumbup

get some freinds round to help you move it too as its quite heavy  health and safety lol

i have a Arrow can which makes a fantastic sound and fuels well so worth a look too if you see one for sale

enjoy the twin bud :thumbup

thanx ken, ye was thinking about the power commander, but wasnt sure about that or a chip, reading on here it seems wise to fit a chip and commander after...being my first vtwin its very lumpy at low revs and sometimes a pig to start (esp in the rain:p) though thinking a good service might help..

wanna pay 150-170'ish for a can, i think i have the smaller oe can as its only got one outlet and thinking some have 2? though might still have me not riding for a month or so if i dropped it on my foot (hope urs is better now lol) quite like the look of a tri-oval can to, but spose its always better to go for makes that u know of rather than some obscure ones? did see a beowolf can that looked nice but never heard of them before

Again Aprilia Performance do a brill service. They travel to your area if you can accom them and get one or 2 others to join in. Personally the power commander me thinks does away with the need for the chip. My dyno run with commander fitted was 120Bhp back wheel and smooth power delivery. It takes away all that lumpy stuff. I also have a complete Arrow system sound and pulls nice. Ken

Pic of my bike for ya Got rear set fitted since then.

Thats very nice ken :)) really clean to... did it come with a black frame? didnt know they did that, mines sorta the same colours..but not a 'r' but for the price difference in insurance and performance wise didnt really think it was worth it, even with the trick bits... tho those forks look lush :))

Bike was stripped and rebuilt. Front forks Ohlins reanodised Black. The Radial Brake is off a 999 Duc. Frame resprayed Slight metalic Black. PVM wheels.Full Arrow system.Power Commander.KN filter.Gear indicator(works a treat)Ohlins re shock with remote preload adjuster.Pazzo levers, Rizzoma Grips and Quick action Throttle. All Titanium engine bolts.Custom made resets(not in the pic) Front sprocket 16, Rear 43 tooth.
