Hi guys (and girls?)

Have just bought myself an '00 RSVR, (kinda by accident - Blinded by gree.. um... excitement, I said "Yes!" when I should have said "I'll do some reasearch and get back to you" Ahhhh well.) Got it for a good price. =)

I haven't even ridden it (its at the other end of the country) but its in great condition and has been well looked after. (A couple of years ago I borrowed a standard '00 Mille with a Racing Can for a long weekend and LOVED it, so I thought, why not?!)

Only mods are a Double Bubble Screen, an Aprilia Racing can and chip (and heated grips... hmmm)

So, some questions for all you gurus out there:
1) What goes wrong with this year bike? What do I need to watch?
2) Is the facelift (01-on) a significantly better bike? 500 changes, 5mm difference in motor height, fairing winglets, vented side panels blah blah blah...
3) What differences will I notice compared to the std Mille I rode? (I know all the 'spec' differences, what's different in feel? e.g. radically quicker turn-in? harder/more compliant suspension? etc)
3) CAN I convert to a dual seat or not? (I know the subframe is shorter)
4) Anyone have any reviews, or suspension set up articles that they could point me in the direction of? (Mmmmm Ohlins) I've been scouring though my back catalogue of PB, FB etc, but no joy. =(
5) Anyone know where I can get some carbon sidepanels (NOT QB's vented ones, they're gay!)
6) Any other hints, tips or advice PLEASE

Off to pick it up next week and ride it 1000km+ in a couple of days...
7) Am I mad? =)

I'm a Ducati guy (too) but used to work for Britten, so I'm sorta addicted to that 60* drone....SO looking forward to getting my bike. :doug

Thanks in advance!
Cheers all!

Whoooooooooooooo Hooooooooo a fellow Cantabrian :thumbup

Welcome to the the Zoo, theres a few other Kiwi's on here (but they come from that "other" island") :biggrin

The biggest things to look out for (In no particular order)

1. Sprag clutch failure due to repeated starting with a low battery
2. No back brake
3. Ohlins fork seal are known to leak
4. Charging circuit failure due to corroded connectors

The 00 model is still the twin plug small valve engine which is not quite as powerful as the later single plug engines.

They are very tuneable, plenty of performance options available

Rear subframes are interchangable but then you end up with a mongrel unlwess you keep the originals to put back on later.

The Britten ....................................:inlove

Are you mad, quite possibly yes :biggrin
