Hi everybody,
just joined and thought id best say hello!! ive already found a few threads usefull so a good start!! ive only owned my 03 touno for 4 weeks now, so still getting used to its little ways! like not wanting to start if the battery is not 100% tip top! so, a new "motobatt" agm battery has been ordered and a new ctek as well! should help a bit hopefully? after spending most of my motorcycling life on inline four strokes, in 1,2,3 and 4cyl varieties, these v twins have certainly got some "stomp" or as my misses said the first time i opened it up, "f*#k me, it takes off like a scalded pony!"
well the temperatures are rising(slowly) and the sun has made the odd appearance! so hopefully i might see some of you guys on the road, untill then, or i post a silly qustion, adios amigos for now! Dave(billybunter)

Greetings & welcome to the fold Dave. Nice intro too. :thumbup
Tuono's are cracking bikes, but have their quirks. The clocks steaming up on mine & having to bleed the clutch get on my ****, but its a small price to pay for such power & fun.

nice intro mate your going to love the T
take a look on Tuono world most of us post on there as well

Welcome bb, wait 'till the weather warms up and yer can start hurling it roon the twisties, yer grin'll be fookin huge. :biggrin :thumbup

greetings and salutations BB :thumbup Yes we will all agree that all Tuonos have there little problems and some bikes more than others however I find the biggest problem I have is that my cheeks (face) ache for days after a good blast due to the constant grin from start to finish :lol enjoy mate :thumbup
excellent intro by the way :yes

Its a great bike, you have done the most important thing with a big battery and decent charger, keep an eye on the chain and sprockets as they make a HUGE difference to the feel of the bike.

If you do need to fit a new chain drop the gearing at the same time, 16/44 on mine it transforms the bike around town and in the twisties....:thumbup

Have fun

Paul

Welcome BB, and as bgip says above 16/44 on a Tuoldo is the way forward.

I find with mine, that I can leave it at least a week to 10 days without a charger and it will start no probs. Any longer, and I put it on the Optimate overnight.

However, mine already has a beefier starter relay and beefier battery.

Enjoy :thumbup

hi again,
thanks all for the excelent welcome! the sun came out today!! so i managed to wangle a few extra hours off this afternoon(boss's perks!) so i could put some more exploratry miles on "MR T" and what a great afternoon i had! 140 miles round trip, used 1 1/2 tanks of fuel and drank two mugs of coffee plus a litre of water, smoked 6/7 **** and SMILED ALL DAY! what a grin these v twins are! instant power/torque and what a sound! mine has the aprilia racing exhaust and has been chipped accordingly, so no big bangs or even small pops on the over run, and still tickles along in town with no snatchiness or slipping the clutch (too much)
the one thing that was apparant is the rear brake feels like its made of wood or something? dont know if this is a common thing or not? but tomorrow night see's a brake caliper off and inspect, strip ,clean, new fluid, bleed and rebuild i think!
anyway still loving it! talk soon!! dave.

bb, don't bother with the back brake,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they don't work.

As A says back brake a waste of time. How mine passed mot I have no idea.

Always found mine to be good. Rode gilos and there was **** all there. Was a bit worried when griff changed the fluid in it but its working same as usual since he did it while back.

mine works fine as well....i had problems with the pads siezing in the calipers when i got the t i think this was due to the caliper being mounted upside down and it holding water ,so the metal plates on the back of the pads rusted and this reacted with the ally caliper causing that ****** white oxidation to jam them...i filed a bit off the edge of the pads and put some copperslip in there and its been fine and dandy for the last 12 months.
